AVATAR progress

There is plenty wrong with Little Mermaid ride, and it has nothing to do with the fact that it's not revolutionary or not intended to be an E-ticket. It's got everything from storytelling problems to show problems.
I'm sorry but I see no flaw in this ride, especially after experiencing black-lit, delapidated Peter Pan next door. The costumes, the AAs, and the sets are gorgeous. It just needs the addition of a ground-breaking attraction next door. Hell, I choked up on childhood feels during it. It's the perfect musical recap. It's simple, fun, and immersive.

Bahahahaha. Yes, they all solely come for an over priced restaurant and a clone of a ride in existence for many years. And did I tell you Im the Queen of the Nile?

No... Sad this thread got so stupid.
You would be surprised. Though you'd be a fool to be. There's demand for princesses. Be Our Guest solved all the problems that Cinderella's castle did. Little girls want to explore that castle, not walk through an elaborate tunnel at the front of a park.

Yeah, especially when you see the black pole up Ariel's back!

I think the biggest issue is how much it cost compared to the final product.

A thread on the progress of Avatar....hmmmmmm....46 pages too. In reality a thread on the progress could be summed up on one page. Honestly....how long has it been since Iger announced this? Just incredible.

I think the number one attraction to the Avatar franchise is the spectacular themed enviroment.
Ask anyone who saw the film, and they will all note the fantastic visuals.
Nobody loved the film solely for the plot, and even those who despise the film with a utter hated passion will admit they liked the visions of Pandora.

So the real issue here is this : Can WDI faithfully recreate THAT environment?

Everyone , even the haters , seems to just focus on just the ride aspects.
That is okay, but as i have said before the REAL attraction of this land will be the cool atmosphere.
IF...and i say if it is faithfully recreated in a way that will be visually impressive...then whatever ride(s) and other attractions they end up including will be the perfect icing on the Pandorian cake.

:)

Iger announced a deal to bring Avatar to Disney parks.. That's it. There were no blueprints, concept art, or capital allocations at that point. This isn't behind schedule at all, it's just that we were given the heads-up that it was coming way earlier in the process than normal.

This is a silly straw-man response. Of course there will be gaps, no one would expect otherwise. However, they need to tell a coherent story in the time they do have. They did it with Splash, with Pan, with Snow White and (in DL) Alice in Wonderland, etc.

In this case, they failed. So yes, there is something wrong with it.

And beyond the storytelling issues, the constant show problems are unacceptable.
Where does it lack any more than the other rides you mentioned? The poor performance of some of the AA's is certainly a black eye on the attraction, but the lineup of AA's in the attraction are all better than anything currently in Fantasyland.

They've had plans for decades now, as you know. If they can't even fix curtains I don't think they can mess the pavilion up more than they did.

Rumor has it there are some new folks in town. With magical checkbooks. They can be seen lurking around temporary double-wide trailers and such.
