AVATAR land - the specifics

I was trying to determine the size of avatarland in order to understand the scope of the new SWL and TSL which are 14 and 11 acres. How large is this land of Pandora?

So on Pandora, is water supposed to be heavier than stone? Just asking as we have waterfalls, I assume where the water flows downward, but we have floating mountains? Don't get me wrong, I think the land looks pretty amazing, but I'm confused by the physics I'm supposed to be immersed in.

The draw that Pandora has for humans is a naturally occurring ore dubbed "unobtanium," an old in-joke in science fiction for materials with physically impossible qualities. (Technically, since it's a mineral, it might better be called "unobtainite," but that's a pretty nerdy quibble.) Unobtanium is the best superconductor known, and apparently works at room temperature. Just as real-world superconductors can float in the presence of a magnetic field, mountains on Pandora apparently loaded with unobtanium can float in the powerful magnetic pockets that dot the moon's surface. The films show these magnetic fields can interfere with technology, just as they would in real life ? although, apparently, not whatever wireless links which allow the main characters to link with their "avatars."

(Found this on a science site that showed the science behind pandora, there is much more cool info but I don't want to post it all)

It's apparently got something to do with magnetic fields, and the water comes from condensation in the clouds.

Confusing, but I'll take it. ;)

not sure if this has been brought up before but I'm actually starting to think pandora will open in 2018 because it'll be the 20th anniversary of animal kingdom. don't get me wrong I want it to open as soon as possible but now that Im thinking they're probably going to want to do something big for the anniversary and opening up a new expansion is probably the biggest thing they could do.

I think the yeti should get some love by the 20th. That would make a lot of people happy enough for a year!

lets hope so! next year will give us a little appetizer of new things with the nighttime safari, rivers of light. Also keeping the park open late will allow me to ride dinosaur more lol.

Is it only going to be the E-ticket Banshee ride and the boat ride? I think there should be one more ride, especially considering it's an 11-12 acre expansion
Probably live entertainment, food, lots of snack stores, cms dressed as soldiers/tour operators for Pandora?

Because " entertainment" and " attractions" aren't always " rides" .

Disney will open it as soon as they can get it ready so they will start earning s return on this huge investment. It will be a centerpiece of the 20th anniversary advertising.

Same way water gets up on top of mountains here on Earth.
Er, excepting the Splashy and Forbidden types.
Having enough of a source of water on this size of mountain to produce a continuous waterfall defies explanation, though. But I suppose if we can suspend disbelief on the floating mountains themselves, water shouldn't be the straw that broke the camel's back on realism.

One thing I am curious about with this project is the use of AAs. I know that Cameron, some time ago, commented on the 64 axes-of-motion for the Na'vi faces alone and that the AAs in this expansion will be game-changing.

Beyond the Na'vi, I am wondering about the animals that inhabit Pandora. Does anyone remember when someone posted a video that showed free-walking animal designed AAs. A guy was walking one and it was walking beside him with such life-like motions it was stunning. At one point he kicked it and it lost its balance but managed to steady itself. It was so real looking it was bizarre. That type of tech could be used to full effect in a land like this to really match the walking trails in Africa and Asia. I am really hoping that technology makes its way into Pandora.
