Have those tiny islands on sticks above the show building been removed / changed?

I remember them being really tall

They are hard to see in these pictures, but they are there...

If I'm seeing it correctly, looks like there is some standing water here. Not sure if this was remnants from them testing any larger water features (aka waterfalls) of just standing rain water, but it would seem that at least in these areas there should be some nice water features.

More projection mapping testing on the floating mountains.

Ohhhh!!!! Just realized what those giant "lightning rods" we were previously talking about might be for: Calibrating these projections!

Unlike a building like the Castle or the Chinese Theater, which have distinct vertical lines and edges that can be used for calibrating and focusing all the various projectors, when you project onto surfaces with pretty much NO straight or even lines, it's pretty difficult to get all those projectors calibrated.

So, you introduce a fixed point that you *can* use to calibrate the projectors, such as a giant ball on the end of a tall stick that is rigidly attached to the structure of the mountain that when deployed will be in the same relative position to the rest of the mountain it's attached to, regardless of temperature or other conditions that might cause the mountains to move. Then, each projector's image needs to be designed with that set point in mind.
(If you look in the video, you can see that sometimes the "ball" above the mountain is pretty brightly lit by these projections)

Whenever they need to calibrate the projectors (I don't know if it's a nightly, weekly, etc job), they just extend that ball-on-a-stick so it's visible to all projectors, project their focus pattern, focus them, and then retract the ball. And voila, you have projectors all around the land properly focused on a varied surface.

(Side question, does anyone know how they calibrate the Tree of Life projectors?)

Are we 100% sure the waterfall aren't happening anymore?

The site which cannot be linked here just posted a leaked photo of the banshee vehicle testing! Looks Super cool, although I wonder what kind of restraints are on them, it looks vey precarious.

I saw that too. I can't believe that they actually look like banshees (although the image is a bit rough). Now my excitement level just ramped up exponentially for this ride.
