I'm sorry if it seems I'm jumping the gun, but right now I really hope the boat ride is worth it, because the simulator sounds pretty meh. I've been one of those few rooting for this project, basing my opinion on the fact that there's just so much potential for themed rides. If this is what we're getting then right now, much like with NFL, I'm much more inclined to hope for cool theming because the E-Ticket is not very buzz-worthy.

(See what I did there? Not a single mention of the nasties over at U_____l in stating my less than enthusiastic opinion. Maybe if we named that 'other' resort That-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named it'll be OK, or is that a bit on the nose?)

No! It should stay true to the source. Yes, the ride system is used as a cummuter train around the world. But it's application@UOR is a state of the art Harry Potter attraction. The Hogwarts Express was attacked twice by dementors in the book series so it is canon if it happens here.

And dressed up is an understatement. Never before seen parallaxes glassesless 3D projections is kind of cool.

just sayin'

But keep tryin '.

Are they really going to be using glasses free 3d? First I've heard of that rumor.

Avatar land will be done right. A D-ticket with height restrictions and a boat ride for the entire family. Something for everyone. The Wizarding World(IOA or Universal) does not have one attraction that the entire family can enjoy together.
Corrected that for you.

Going by your thinking, is that so wrong? Maybe they don't want to include every demographic.
Babies can't ride Splash Mountain. Does that make the MK so bad?

But I'm glad you think "it will be done right".

You can have thrill rides at a park. Adding a two new lands based on a family based property, without attractions the entire family can experience together misses a huge opportunity for Universal.

Potter is the most popular expansion in Universal history, the Hogwarts Express is a clever way to link the parks and get guests to spend more money on Admission and more time at the resort.

First, the decision to put Potter in both parks was not in Universal's hands. That was A JKR sticking point from day 1.

You assume Gringotts is not family friendly, which is not the case. There was a mandate to make the ride considerably more family friendly. Also, Hogwarts Express will have no height requirement.

Who says they won't cater more for families elsewhere? Assuming they want to. They're not going for the family friendly 90% of the time route. They don't need to.

And indeed, Hogworts has no age / heightrestriction. Gringotts will be as family as BTM. It's not a roller coaster.

Well, Whylightbulb explicitly said it was a glasses free effect that is stunningly realistic. If you search through his comments from a year back you will find it.

To clarify, we're talking about glasses-less 3D for the Potter train, right? Not Soarin over Pandora?

while I think they have done a great job expanding and adding new attractions... I think they are starting to put too much in Harry Potter. That is now what everyone relates to Uni... I personally am not a Harry Potter fan... I know many are... but when you start to build sections/lands in both parks now with a harry potter ride (sorta) linking them together... well...I just think they are trying to continue squeezing the toothpaste as hard as they can to get out every last drop (can't blame them, it is a business after all). Everything they do from now on though will be compared to what they did with Harry Potterland... Springfield is just an imaginationless expanded Mickey's Toontown themed to the Simpsons they are past their prime
