Attractions to skip

I am absolutely shocked by the number of people who skip Country Bear Jamboree. Have you folks no sense of humor?

We mix it up, with really nothing on a "don't do" list. If it's your first time going, I would strongly encourage you to not use any advice here, but rather to experience all you can, and determine for yourself what you do and do not enjoy. Personally, I find Country Bear Jamboree to be one of WDW's best attractions--popular sentiment here does not align with my belief. So clearly, your mileage may vary.

I agree. Also shocked at Swiss Family Treehouse. This has got to be the BEST treehouse ever conceived by man. Have these people no imagination or sense of adventure?

MK: Country Bears, Stitch's great escape
EPCOT: Universe of Energy, Mission Space, Any attraction in World Showcase minus American Adventure. Just stick to the shopping and food
HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS: American Idol, Sounds Dangerous, (Is that even still there?)
ANIMAL KINGDOM: Kali River Rapids. Rode it once. Found it disappointing. Something named after the Goddess of Destruction should have a little more Umph

MK: Monsters inc, Buzz Lightyear, Speedway, Tom Sawyer Island
EPCOT: Universe of Energy but everything else is amazing
DHS: stunt show, sounds dangerous, HISTK playset, and never set foot in American Idol
AK: only 4 worth riding: EVEREST, KALI, SAFARI kinda, DINOSAUR

Totally agree. I'm sure if everyone on these boards posted everything they don't do, you would end up with a list covering every attraction. So...Go, have fun and try everything for yourself (I'm sure you'll find attractions on this thread that you will love).

I'm willing to bet that 75% of people who skip American Idol have never been. It really is a lot of fun. Also, I'm amazed at those who skip Flights of Wonder. That's my family's favorite attraction of all time.

I don't, never have, watch theshow on TV so to take time out of my Disney World schedule to see it wouldn't make sense. This is just my personal opinion others may really enjoy it and that's great for them.

Didn't mean to sound critical, but I encourage everyone to be open-minded. I figured that the show itself would be a turnoff for a lot of people visiting the attraction. It's fun to see regular park guests get on stage in front of a thousand people and belt it out to some Disney classics.

skipping....

MK - Astro Orbiter (I actually got mad we waited so long in line for this crappy ride.)

E - I don't think anything.

HS - Sound Dangerous. (Silly.)

AK - Nothing again.

DH and I used to skip Peter Pan in MK. Last year I made him go on the ride and he loved it! It is one attraction we'll do again and again. The trip we have planned in Sept, we'll be there enough days to at least do EVERYTHING once and we've agreed to try attractions that we haven't done before. :D

Until I put some thought into it, I didn't think I'd even have much of a list but...

MK: Any of the spinning attractions; Dumbo, Aladdin, Astro Orbiter, or the Mad Tea Party. I just don't care for spinning much. And Stitch's Great Escape. Once was enough.

EPCOT: Journey Into Imagination. I gave that one a second chance, and it was a mistake. Of any possible rehab, update, or overhaul I might possibly want THIS is my top priority. This is the least entertaining and most poorly executed attraction ever built in a Disney park.

Hollywood Studios: Sounds Dangerous, the animation studio tour, and the Studio Backlot Tour are easily my least favorite attractions at DHS. It's especially sad how the backlot tour and animation studio have become a mere shadow of their former selves...

Animal Kingdom: Triceritop Spin is all I can think of as skip worthy. I think Animal Kingdom is incredibly immersive and while it doesn't have the attraction overflow of the Magic Kingdom or EPCOT everything that is there is so well conceived and entertaining I couldn't imagine skipping anything intentionally.

MK:
Stitch's Great Escape
Country Bear Jamboree
Monster's Inc Laugh Floor

DHS:
Honey I Shrunk the Audience (not there anymore)
Sounds Dangerous

Epcot:
World Showcase movies
Ellen's Energy Adventure (saw it once...very boring)

DAK:
Haven't intentionally skipped anything, but haven't done the Jungle Trek yet. Also didn't get off the train at the conservation station.

Think you may be thinking of the wrong thing here. That was the show at Epcot that was just replaced by Captain EO. I think you might be thinking of Honey I Shrink the Kids Movie Set Adventure

Stitch's Great Escape
Tom Sawyer's Island
Swiss Family

AK:
Nothing I've skipped on purpose, but I have not done the Jungle Trek yet.

EPCOT:
Ellen
SSE :lookaroun

DHS:
Again, nothing I've missed on purpose but have yet to see Voyage of the Little Mermaid...I'm sure that will be on the slate next time we go.

MK- Stitch, Speedway, Carousel, Dumbo, Hall of Pres. (although I want to go back now to see new), Liberty Bell, Tom Sawyer Island, Tiki Room, Aladdin Carpets, Treehouse.

Epcot- Circle of Life Film, Many Innovention exhibits, JIYI, Grand Fiesta.

DHS - Playhouse Disney, Sounds Dangerous, Movie Trailer, (while good - I don't see a reason to go back to Raiders or LMA again).

AK - Planet Watch, Triceratop Spin.

I try to do everything

Good on you, so do I! I don't think I really have a list of attractions I'm planning on bypassing, if I don't happen to get on them then I don't happen to get on them. I wouldn't want to try and put anyone off of any ride or attraction to be honest - everyone should experience something once and not be put off by my recommendation

I agree 100% there is no ride that I hate that I would skip on purpose. If you just rode a ride once and didn't like just give it another chance you might end up liking it.

Magic Kingdom:
The Enchanted Tiki Room
Stitch's Great Escape
Mad Tea Party

Epcot:
Maelstrom's post-ride show

Animal Kingdom
Flights of Wonder
Primeval Whirl

LOL, they really need to move the Maelstrom movie to before the ride, then more people would actually watch it. I've done the Maelstrom tons of times, and never watched the movie.

Generally, I try to hit everything while I'm at WDW.

Except now some things are starting to wear thin and lose their charm. I probably will avoid these in a near visit, unless I'm with someone who's never been there before.

Magic Kingdom
Stitch's Great Escape

Epcot
Innoventions - HA! What a sad joke this area has become.
Living with the Land - was always boring, relatively unchanged since it opened
Circle of Life Film - hypocritical and laughable at many times
Mission:Space - intense one is too intense, "lite" version is not intense enough
Test Track - I can pretty much ride test track at home in my own car. Never did like this ride.
Imagination - Need I say more? The novelty of it being terrible wore off.

Hmm that's almost all of Futureworld...

DHS
Backlot Tour (sigh)
American Idol Experience
Animation Tour

Animal Kingdom
I'll probably skip everything but Everest, Dinosaur and Festival of the Lion King.
