Totally before we go, I don't have to think about it. And my trips keep failing to live up to my expectations. :( I don't know what's wrong with me... or them... I dunno. Last trip was somewhat of a disappointment to me, though. :(

I feel the same way. For some reason the past two times I have been it didn't seem as good as before. I THINK it has to do with what hotel you stay in (the All-Stars are most Disney-ish). Maybe I was just starting to get bored going with the same 3 people for 18 years.

I think when I take my girlfriend in May (she has never been to WDW or DL) it will be a lot of fun to be her little tour guide. lol It will be interesting to see how she reacts to little things that have just become "normal" to me. I think it will help me enjoy it more when thinking about all the little things that you tend to over look after going for years and years. My girlfriend told me she didn't know what to expect and wish I wouldn't ruin it by telling her every little detail (Hey, I get excited...lol) and she asked me the other day... "Is it like Six Flags but with 4 parks." I told her it didn't even compare and if you try to compare it to Disney it would be like comparing a Ford to a Ferrari. :)D ouch)

It is a total different atmosphere and people at Disney seem to be more classy than more than half the people you see at Six Flags including the employess at Six Flags. Maybe thats just me or just the people at Six Flags Over Texas, but then again after growing up with Disney my expectations are friggin' high.

The best part is probably driving onto the Disney property and seeing everything. The worst part is when you are leaving (I don't know if they still have this or not) and see the billboard that has Mickey buckling his seatbelt. I hate that part and that's usually the point where I say "I wish I could stay in bed until the next trip. The real world sucks!"

I would say the night before I go to MK and later at night when I'm watching the fireworks with the family I find myself thinking of all the memories made that day and find myself just smiling:sohappy:

Tbh the magic hits me at all of the above but in a slightly different way each time!
When I'm with my family looking at old pictures of us in the World and talking about past trips, this always makes us uber excited to be going back to spend time together in our favourite place in the World.

When you enter on property and see the WDW sign :D and obviously when you see THE castle!

Hit by Fairy dust

Usually I am hit by the magic when I am sitting in traffic waiting to go somewhere I don't want to go. A voice syas to me - "You HAVE to go to Disney World.

O' if you mean when I am actually going .. That has to be when I see The Castle. Some day - in my wildest dreams - I want to play my tuba marching up Main Street toward The Castle. WDW opened the fall after I graduated from High School - so there had been no hope of realizing it that way. But some day - "When You Wish Upon a Star" never sounded as good as it does when played on a tuba

I had to vote for planning the vacation/the night before/arriving at wdw.

That first morning when I wake up is the best feeling in the world...I have never been more excited for anything else. Actually, the day before we leave it hits me a lot because I'm doing last minute things, and for some reason I feel like I'm in a dream and just waiting to be pinched because I'm going to WDW the next day!!! Getting on the DME bus and pulling up to our resort is very exciting...I cannot wait!!! :D

That is a great question!! :D Since I go in February, I get too excited around Christmas. And when I come to WDW that is when the magic hits me the most.

I hate to sound like a cliche but it hits me as soon as I walk through the tunnel at MK and step out onto Main Street.

I've got to say the magic really starts for me when I step on the monorail....

All the planning & packing gets me excited for my trip, then the flight, DME ride and check-in builds the anticipation, but when I hear the words "Welcome Aboard...", that's when I know I'm really there.

Love the planning and the big buildup but it really hits me when I step on Disney's Magical Express and they play the video.
