At Disney, Mission: Space spurs most complaints

Two people dead within 10 months is A LOT... I don't care how many people ride M:S each day or whatever, but two people in less than a year is a lot... especially if they die because the ride caused something to happen in their body (not standing up or something like on a rollercoaster, or doing anything wrong besides just riding the attraction normally)... This ride isn't broken and people are dieing on it... It's sad, but I feel Disney needs to take a real hard look at this attraction before somebody else dies... What if I have a heart condition I don't know about... I ride tons of rollercoasters and motion sims and never get sick... but then I ride M:S and end up dead... that's not right... they need to maybe tone this ride down... or possibly close it forever... There's a reason why NASA Astronauts where G suits... maybe we all should too...
:sohappy: Great post...

Where’s the evidence for the fact this is what would happen.

There is no evidence, it's wild speculation at it's worst.

Indeed, Tennessee and Florida are worlds apart! :D

Not quite. You do know where Larry The Cable Guy is from, right?

End the end, I guess our two different worlds ARE ONE!

At least little ole Tennessee bear is a featured on the thing. You know it sounds just like a guitar, but it has only has one string. Amazing sound.

I agree, we don't know about other parks unless we been to other parks.. I been to Six FLags Great Adventure here in NJ and I cannot think of a ride there as intense as M:S is.... So, it is not fair to compare it to other parks. That is why I compared it to other Disney attractions in WDW... I too would love to see a list of other theme park records of calls for medical assitance resulting from riding one of their attractions/rides.... At least we do agree on this subject, somewhat anyway :)

I live only an hour away from Cedar Point and have not heard of any deaths in the last few years.

I understand people's anger that Disney is not at fault and people are "silly" if they don’t read signs, BUT I still think that Disney has to look at the intensity of every ride they put it and weigh it against the risks. To me 2 deaths is a lot for any ride. This should be revisited by Disney execs and decide what to do. Most people will blame the media for the press but it's not totally the Medias fault. It is very rare to get bad press about someone passing out on a ride but dieing is something totally different and I expect them to investigate and if needed criticize the establishment.

Just my opinion!

I worked one summer at Cedar Point.....and yes, we had some major mishaps......but you won't ever hear about them.....the fact that Cedar Point has its own police force helps the parks PR department quitea bit.

ummm... correct me if im wrong but didnt they make changes to AE when it first came out due to the intensity? if so why dont they do that to this?

Yep, AE was changed after a few months, but to make it more scarier - the first version didn`t flow very well and had some plot issues that didn`t hold together. Plus a few more FX were added too.

That was an improved storyline and plot? To me the story or lack of one was it's downfall....I never thought it had much of one to keep me coming back.

There's a difference....in AE the intensity was of the scarinest. If they tone down the intensity of M:S...it would be of the effects and it would become a video that moves....boring.

FYI....wait times today at 2pm

Mission Space- 110 minutes
Soarin'- 90 minutes
Test Track- 70 minutes

There is no such thing as bad publicity except your own obituary.

I had a feeling that wait times would either plummet or we would see that. Even with that said, I'm a little surprised. Hopefully this bodes well for the attraction.

I just hope that everyone in that 110 min wait enjoyed it and will come back to ride it again.
