Are you 23?

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but a quick search of Disney 23 in Yahoo brings up this- "New 2009 Adventures by Disney. Discover 23 family adventures with new itineraries in 2009".- Maybe something connected to this? The blurb comes from the www.disney.go.com web site

Another blog mentions that it may be related to the birth of the disney company on 1923. Don't know if that is bull

Thats the only obvious reference I can find to the number and Disney directly.

So its only about what they are using that reference for.

But does, ARE YOU 23? Make sense if they are talking about the year the company started, 1923??? I cannot see how ARE YOU 23 fits, other than 1923 and 23...

It could very well be that club mentioned by a previous poster.. only 62 more days!!!!

Googling it comes up with a whole bunch of other stuff that is probably unrelated but happens to have 23 of 'whatever'.

I know, the wording doesn't quite make sense. But 'are you a fan?' would. Thus, "are you a member of the 23 club" would make sense.

Dunno. That suggestion/guess/leak was very plausible.

Any chance it has to do with the launch of Disney XD (a.k.a. ToonDisney)?

This is from Wikipedia:

Disney XD will be an American cable television channel owned by The Walt Disney Company that will mostly air children's animated television series. The network is expected to debut in February 2009 as the successor to Toon Disney. Its target market will be aimed at boys aged 6 to 14 as a compliment to Disney Channel, which has redirected its own programming strategy towards girls in the same age range.

Edit: Forgot the poster said "March 10"...I was focusing too much on the "23" (as in 2/3)...ugh...time for bed...

And I expect this to be solved by the time I wake up in the morning!

When submitting your email, it quickly flashes "Transferring to http://disneypicturesawards.go.com" in the status bar.

My guess is some sort of rewards program or a release of remastered Disney Pictures with tons of features...

It couldn't mean 1923, because it says "are you 23" not 'since 23' or anything like that.

It has to be a riddle for something that is 23 years old (aka 1986). Most likely though it is directly linked to the day march 10th, because the only other reason they would put that on the poster/riddle is because that is the day they release the secret. But from the way this whole thing looks, it seams like march 10th has significance and that's why they are releasing information/something on this day. I wasn't born yet (1 month and 3 weeks shy), so im not sure what happened 3/10/86 but I can tell you it was a Monday, so if that rings any bells.....

Hey guys...don't hate me for this, but I had to put this out there...

I just went back to the original link to view the photo. The angle of the writing at the bottom of the poster (where it says 'March 10 * Disney') doesn't quite seem to jive with the angle of the writing where it says 'Are you 23'...

I tried to put a ruler up to the screen to see if the angles match...but I think I'm looking at it a LITTLE too much now...

Can anyone else look at it and tell me if I'm just going cross-eyed trying to figure this out?

If you wait a few seconds while viewing the page, Tinkerbell flutters around on the screen. I wonder if Tinkerbell has anything to do with it?

The angles shouldn't match. But they should all converge to a single vanishing point.

A Thought

Are you 23? Are you a true Disney Geek? Only a true disney geek would know that Disney started in 1923. No one else would care. I think that it is what we have been waiting for...its the official announcement of the 40th anniversary stuff. We all know that they have to announce soon in order to get things going. They have been very quiet recently and we have all been awaiting the news of the 40th. They could be sending the email right before the press conference so that the true disney geeks know first. An homage to the true fans if you will. We all know that Tink is the Icon of the parks and she is the key figure. Space Mountain could be the first thing they are going to work on and they had to announce its closure before the big announcement.

Something tells me there is going to be a contest of some sort where there are only 23 winners... Thus, ARE YOU 23, with the 23rd person winning a Grand Prize...

Let's start taking over/unders now.. How many posts will this thread have on March 10, 2009????

Makes alot more sence then what the last person put forth. Are you 23 doesn't have anything to do with the year Disney was first built, I can guarantee you that, because "Are you 23" wouldn't make sence in that context.

whatever it is I'm taking the over, I mean it's at 100+ already and we're like 2 months from the date, PLUS there's emails being sent out sometime, and the closer it gets to the date the more people will chit chat.

Let me set the bar now.. Since we are talking about 23 and 1923... LEt's make the post count.. 1,923 posts BY March 10, 2009.... SO, you are taking over 1923 posts by March 10??
