Has anyone else read the article on Mousesavers.com?? The operator says that there is a possability that they are phasing out room only reservation discounts in exchange for huge discounts on packages? Now I know that the mouse will not completely do this but what do you think this is spelling for the future? Any connection to "Magical Gatherings"? Since most large groups will naturaly buy packages? When are those rates coming out? I heard a rumor on another thread of 8/17? Any conformation?:veryconfu

Katiesmom, the time that you are going is when they have the teachers conventions and a lot of people take off and go at this time. The Swan/Dolphin offer discounts to teachers so this is most probably why they are booked solid. If you need any help trying to get a room. You can call me @ 1-866-566-7858 or e-mail me @ pam@kingdomkonsultant.com

Hi Pam and thanks for the information.. I knew there had to be some kind of convention going on for the Epcot resort area to be soooo busy that week. I will call you on Tuesday... but just warn you, I am looking for a deluxe resort (not the animal kingdom resort) for the dates of Nov 4th to the 9th ( not an easy find) with the AP discount (even a harder find!) Thanks again!!!!

People make ressies then dont pay the deposit on them or cancel them etc. From what I can guess there are only a very limited number of rooms available at the AP rate at each resort, but keep trying or use our buddy, Kingdom Konsultant to try for you!!! She may have better luck as she would be in contact with Disney more often probably than you might have time to do!!! Good luck!! Belle

I totally agree with Belle! Pam was able to get me an upgrade to concierge at BW for less than the lowest price I was able to get for a standard! She's fantastic!

My dad booked AP rates at Yacht Club for 180something/night beginning on 12/26. We never did this before, and are excited to upgrade like this form our usual moderate.

I forgot to mention that Super soap weekend is also during that time.:( you also have Veteren's day to contend with. I called and I am sorry to say that the only thing I could find on property is the All Stars for that time frame. Is there any chance that you could change your dates? Did you try the downtown Disney hotels? Did I read that you had a good rate at the Portafino?

Hi Pam Thanks very much for trying... I will email our vacation information later today. We did get the entertainment discount at the Portafino for the length of our stay, which we are using as our back up plan right now.

I just called the AP hotline and got the discount for the first night which was previously filled up. I am staying at the Contemporary wing room for 4 nights starting on Nov. 28 but I couldn't get Nov. 28, only the other 3 nights. I decided to call today and check and they said it was availible!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

The Portafino is a beautiful hotel. Make sure that you have first and last names of everyone in your party along with children's ages. Please include the price for the Portafino so that I know if you are getting a better deal. I look forward to hearing from you.

What do you think SuperMatt?? Belle

You are correct Belle!

Well I would put it this way it MAY not be...May being the operative word. There are still several events going on around property that may contribute to higher crowds such as the Super Soap Weekend, MNSSHP, Etc. I still wouldnt hesitate to book if you are relatively sure of where you want to be, resort and date wise and can get it. I am saying that if you havent gotten your dates, I wouldnt completely give up the idea, keep checking. I agree on the Sept 11,12, 13 thing as that is when a LOT of these reservation deposits become due. I know mine were due right around then but I have already paid mine!!!:D :D :D Hope to see all of you in October or December!!! Belle

I just booked my room using AP rates for Christmas week. We had reservations at the Pop Century for $114 a night. Got in All-Star Sports for $49 a night. WOW:sohappy: I saved over $455 for the trip. AS Sports was the only value resort with AP rates still available.

Hey all I just got my confirmations in the mail!!! I Am SSSOOO excited. However I noticed something very odd. About 2/3 of the way down the page it says that the total payment is due before check in!! I have never seen this before. Payment in full was always due at check in with a one night's deposit due either at the time of booking or not too long after that. I called Disney and checked and according to the computers, I am all set until check in. Did anyone else get this on their notices?? And SuperMatt is this just a computer glitch?? Thanks for any info you have!!! Belle

I got my Confirm yesterday and it had no mention of the entire thing having to be paid in full before the trip. I Did notice that it says for the Package Description AMI Passholder offer... I never saw this done before... Also it does not say I need a Valid AP or PAP at Check-In like all my other AP Confirm Letters, I would think Disney would have included that line to cover their backs

Hey Belle,

A lot of the room only resrevations say that. It is Disney's policy to have the room only reservations paid in full 5 days prior to check in. I have been told on the phone that it is not necessary to pay it in full beforehand, that it can be paid upon check in.

That's odd. Mine says that we need to have an AP at check-in.

I just got my confirmation today as well. 7 nights at the Polynesian!
