My wife loves this show. From what I have seen, I think all the kids are adorable. However I have a bit of a problem with Kate. At times she seems to be downright nasty. The way she yells at her husband in public. I have also seen her being mean to those kids. I saw an episode where one of the kids got gum on his sock and his stuffed animal and she went through the roof. She brought the child to tears. She kept on telling him, "Say good bye....he's going in the garbage." I felt so bad for the poor little guy. He was begging her not to throw his animal away. Since I don't really watch the show on a regular basis like my wife, I was wondering....is this the way she is? I was just curious if any fans of the show had any opinions.

She's a little.... errrm... on edge. And he seems like such a great guy... he just kinda takes it.

I like The Soup's joke.. they're soon going to do a spinoff... Jon Minus Nine.

Not old, just vintage.
She is a bit much to handle for sure. I like watching the show, but sometimes her micromanaging and uptight attitude get to me. I feel sorry for Jon sometimes.

I like her..I mean she does a lot...I have a hard time with my one 3 year old ..

Also he handles her pretty well...and they seem to work out the way they are..:)
He does not seem to be unhappy and neither do the kids..

Is it 5:00 yet?
I love watching the show though Maddie gets on my nerves...she always has to be the center of attention. I like Kate...I think she handles those stressful situations pretty well...I mean I can't even imagine having those cameras around all the time and trying to raise all those kids....it would drive me insane..

I will say their Disney episode was a bit much with the ice cream. DH and I were both like calm down Kate. They are kids, they don't care that their clothes are going to be dirty the rest of the day. There are washers to make clothes clean, so no they are not ruined because of a little ice cream. They had fun and that's what matters.

Jon spoke at the National twins convention in Boston this past summer. Spoke on how it is to be a dad of multiples

I love watching Jon and Kate Plus 8!!! The kids are so cute. As for Kate, I would not say that she is nasty. She just goes over the top a little sometimes. But afterall, she does have six 4 year olds and then Maddie and Cara too... I cant even imagine how stressful that has to be at times.:lookaroun

Yeah, she does have a lot to deal with. She is high strung but she fully admits it. I like her too. She has spunk. I am sure we all have our moments. Well, at least I know that I do.:)

Yes, Maddie will be a handful when she is a teenager.

I wish that they would have covered more in the "Disney" episodes. It would have been cool to see them in all the parks. I have to admit that my wife made me watch this show at first but I actually enjoy it now.

Yep, love this show. Yes, Kate is over the top, but as others have said she acknowledges that. I saw the gum in the blankie episode too and while it seemed rather cruel the way she handled it, I could see myself doing that at the end of a long day too (and I only have one kid to deal with). I think they all handle it amazingly well for the number of kids in that house.

I love the show and think Jon is an exceptionally nice, easy-going guy.
I have mixed feelings about Kate. I think her moments of obsession come mostly from exasperation and exhaustion. She seems aware of her shortcomings and, hopefully, watching herself act that way will help her in the long run.
She does an amazing job with the kids, for the most part. She might be over the top, but her situation calls for super organizational skills and she certainly has those. Her tender moments with Jon and the kids come across as being very real. I think she has good intentions, always, even if sometimes she comes across a bit shrewish. In her place, I couldn't imagine what my harried moments would look like on TV.
Now Mady...I'd like a couple of hours with her. She'd lose a little of that attitude.

The Soup is a great show! That show makes me laugh every week.
I watch Jon & Kate + 8 every now and again but am not a big fan. Kate seems to want things too perfect. Jon seems to be more relaxed. The kids are all adorable.

It is one of my favorite shows!
I agree though, Kate can blow her top at times.. times when it's even unnecessessary. But I do give her credit with all of those kids, she's really an excellent mother to them and it shows, just except when they get in trouble :zipit: But the kids are also growing up very well (and adorable!)
and Jon is a great guy and definitely shouldn't get beaten down on at certain times, or he should do it back! But on one interview they did say that the interiews are the only times when they get to understand how eachother really felt and sit down and talk about it.. and it's all good at the end of the day. Definitely look up to that family though for going through what most families take for granted (although they get many free trips! :goodnevil)

Aww, man I was just about to say that!

You can tell that we are The Soup fans! :D

And yes, Kate seems a little bit too much, at least from the clips that I've seen.

Have to admit that it is a guilty pleasure of mine too! :o My 12 year old son got me hooked on watching it last year and I have pretty much seen every episode at least once now - haha! I love how cool and calm Jon is most of the time during the interview parts and how he makes faces and rolls his eyes sometimes when Kate is talking. :ROFLOL:He looks like he would be pretty cool to hang with and have a few beers.

The one rule they have that I totally love is how they both said they always say what they are feeling or what is on their mind, even if they end up fighting or arguing on camera. That way they don't carry it over to later in the day or the next day even. Even with all the cameras on them, they aren't afraid to tell each other what is REALLY on their mind or what they think of what the other one is doing or saying. I think openness is the key to a successful marriage.

If you think Kate is over the top as far as perfection, try watching Bridezillas. Wow, no wonder our divorce rate is so high, people putting importance on the wrong things.

Aren't we all like Kate sometimes?
