Anyone else not a fan of "Soarin'"?

Soarin', Test Track, and Space Ship Earth are the main reasons to go to EPCOT. They form a 'triangle of interest'.
Otherwise, we just use EPCOT as filler when the other parks close.

IMHO

I only did Soarin once this trip. It's a great ride, but it's not worth the long wait ... after you have been on it 20 times already

My entire family really couldn't care less about it. If we do it, it's near the end of the trip, and definitely not on the "must-do" list.

If they changed it to Soarin' over the World, and flew over the Pyramids, or Niagra, or the Grand Canyon, etc... And if it was a CLEAN digital projection... Then my opinion might change.

Why not do that, and then make it 3D like Philharmagic? I think that would really make it top class, unless it's not possible because of the screen or ride system.

my thoughts for a better Soarin' :

1) do the film in HD
2) make the wind effects stronger
3) make the scents stronger
4) film the ending in the MK

LOL! I made a thread a few weeks ago about not being a fan of Soarin'.....there was so much hype about it and everyone was like "ohhh soarin SOOOOARIN! Its magical and fantastical!' I walked through and waited in that cue area feeling like I was standing in a stadium walkway, it was so blah and cement....then those highly annoying games on the walls where the people next to you nearly nail you in the head with their flailing arms trying to make the flowers grow....then, the ride was blah. My son and I looked at eachother and started laughing as we were "flying" over California...he says: "Mom, do not make me wait on this line for this ride again or Im running away." I told him: "Ill run with you"

Ever tried riding it barefoot? :lookaroun

Just slip off your shoes or sandals before you take off, and of course they'll be right there waiting for you when you land. It's so much fun soaring through the sky while dangling your feet... It's an amazing experience.

... or is it just weird?

I felt this ride was pretty neat for what it was.....could definitely use some updating but as with alot of disney rides there seems to be very simple little things they could easily do to make the ride incredible. The first thing I noticed is the lack of smells.....there are one or two, but there could easily be more smells for the ocean, woods, etc. (maybe they just werent working when I was there) Changing the temperature of the wind, such as warmer in the plains/ beach scenes and cooler in the mountains/ snow scenes would surely make a difference.....AND HOW IS THIS RIDE NOT 3D!!!!! I mean a set of glasses for everyone and replacing the regular IMAX projector with a 3D one.......that alone could take this ride to the next level in my opinion.....

Loved it the first time........
Liked it the second time.....
Now it's one of those "maybe we'll do it if there's time" kind of rides.

Im not a big fan of it anymore either. Though I must admit I enjoyed it a lot the two times I rode it last month. But if I dont get to do it for my next couple of trips, I dont think I would care.
