Honestly, I really don't see the need to replace wonders of life right now. I can already go to epcot for 2 full days, and still not see everything.

While I like some of the suggestions other posters have about the areas that need TLC, I still think DAK needs more. It should have had more when it first opened. We have considered going to DAK for a few hours like a break day. We are always finished by early afternoon.

I know. I never got to experience it. (Reminding you guys, I'm 12 years old and I've been on a trip each year.)

That really sucks. My biggest regret concerning WoL was that I went when it re-opened 2 years back. I did Body Wars twice but neglected to visit Cranium Command and Making Of Me. I did get some good pictures though.:D

My first trip was back in 2005 then 2007 then 2008 so, I pretty much missed it.

Here are some of the photos that I took of Wonders of Life when it re-opened December 2007.

I think that this was the last time it officially opened to the public.

Aww, I miss WoL so much. But GOSH, is that decor dated.
It's interesting that WoL, the pavilion whose general aesthetics would generally be judged to have dated the most out of all the Future World pavilions, does not feature a "futuristic" motif apart from the golden dome itself and from the secondary theming around Body Wars.

No, the interior of WoL was built to resemble a carnival. A sideshow. A hodgepodge of a traveling tent city. It's not surprising that in 2009 it appears dated as all heck.

I postulate that had a fully futuristic design motif been adopted at original construction in 1989, it would have appeared a bit dated (as did all of Future World) in the mid 90s or so, but right about now, 2009, would have taken on a newfound classy, futuristic appearance by virtue of changing, cyclical cultural trends. Just like the rest of Future World.

But by, in 1989, going with a thoroughly modern, carnival motif, rather than a boundary-pushing futuristic motif, the pavilion all but set itself up for dreadful dated-ness 20 years down the road.

A lesson to be learned, I think.

Agreed. And the building is quite beautiful too. They could easily make this thing current and relevant again.

And as for your lesson...*coughInnoventionsPlazaCircusTentcough* :lookaroun:lol:

Same with Ellen's Energy Adventure. The exterior is the only thing futuristic about it. Hopefully if and when WoL is updated the imagineers will make it more futuristic and appealing. To be honest, while WoL has that corny carnival theme I like how it is so colorful.

Now that the ball's rolling how about a replacement for Honey I Shrunk The Audience.:)

Honestly I think they should just completely close down the Imagination Pavilion and redo all of it, JTIwF is pretty poor and HISTA is extremely dated plus the real Imageworks is still dormant upstairs. I'd like to see some real imagination put into a refresh of the pavilion. First off, I think the Imagination Institute theme needs to go. It sorta worked for HISTA, but not as well for the main pavilion. Second, when they make a 4th version of JTI, make it really interactive. I'd love to see some elements added that guests could change while they are riding. I know the image capture stuff is already in Spaceship Earth, but I definately think giving the guests something to customize while on the ride would be going in the right direction. Third, bring back the upstairs Imageworks, this time with updated technology. I'd love to see that show with the green screen return as well as a bunch of the other old Imageworks displays. As for HISTA, the most logical thing would be putting another 4-D film in it's place, but since Body Wars is gone, why not convert it into a simulator? Adding a thrill ride to the Imagination Pavilion would be an interesting touch.

What do you guys think?

I don't know what to think. It's a good idea and it would be nice to have something new for the pavilion but, it would be nice to go to the original attraction.

As can I. But I still want them to keep improving and replacing. Epcot could be a 2-day park for everybody. And Disney should want it to be, in order to get the meal money, since Epcot's restaurants are big draws.

I would keep the imagination institute theme, but have Dr. Nigel Channing brings in Dreamfinder to run the place.

I don't see Dreamfinder returning, although I wouldn't mind it personally. I think it would be best to either go back to the original theme or stick with the current one. I'd love for the fourth version of the ride to be a reimagining of the original with interactive elements. That would be most excellent.

The whole Institute theme was supposed to be dropped for version 4 with a return to the original idea. And a far better ride. Where things stand now is anyones guess. I havn`t a clue. I just know it is dragging on oh-so-slow waiting for the green light again.
