The whole Institute theme was supposed to be dropped for version 4 with a return to the original idea. And a far better ride. Where things stand now is anyones guess. I havn`t a clue. I just know it is dragging on oh-so-slow waiting for the green light again.

:sohappy: Once the economy gets better we might have an actual Imagination ride on our hands.

Long Live Dreamfinder!!!

Here's some things that would be nice.

-IASW update

I can't see Disney closing IASW until SM is done at least. Remember, the ride was closed for almost a year long refurb only 4-5 years ago so I don't think they want to close it for that reason also. Maybe work could be done in 3rd shift?

I would keep the imagination institute theme, but have Dr. Nigel Channing brings in Dreamfinder to run the place.

Scrap it, lets get this decade+ long nightmare over with already. Lets get some "amazing and marvelous new ideas..."

"You mean, everyone can think up new things?"

Hopefully the powers that be fall into that "everyone" category.

Doing it in 3rd shift would make the most sense. Chances are Disney won't touch IASW until after SM is finished.

It's kinda funny, but I sorta miss Captain EO. I barely remember the show, but I liked it back in the day...

It looked pretty cool. With a bigger budget and a new cast it could easily go back into Disneyland's Tomorrowland. I know I am the minority here but Disney could have Zac Efron play Captain EO. He is good at dancing and singing and imagine how many screaming girls would come to see it.

Nothing can top Michael Jackson, when he was still black. Maybe Corbin Blu would be a better choice...

Sure thing!

After everyone is seated with their 3d glasses on the show starts. Te room darkens until it is almost pitch black. As the narrator egins talking the screen is filled with stars. The effect is positioned so that it looks like the screen is a window, looking out into space. It would be somewhat ike the space windows in Space Mountain but on a larger scale. While the audience is listening to the narrator and watching the screen about 50,000 fiber optic stars embedded into the walls of the theater would glow, surrounding the audience with stars. To complete the effect, a hidden projector at the back of the theater would project stars onto the backs of guests heads going down all the rows. The entire theater woul become a massive starfield. When the narrator finishes the stars will fade out and a massive galaxy would appear above audiences heads. The new show will feature several laser effects as well as fog. The 3d will be digital.

So, what do you think?

Sounds like an awesome idea for an intro. All you need is a good plot and we're in business.

Don't forget good singers! There really aren't many that can top MJ but hopefully there is someone at that level. I keep reflecting Zac Efron because I could see him in that role.

I just thought id throw in this little idea. I was talking with a CM today at the Doorway to Dreams location in my mall. He said why not drop the Aerosmith name from the RNRC. Why you might ask? Because Disney owns a band, the Electric Mayhem. And it would fit in with other stuff there. Just a thought, I know it may be goofy but i like it.

You wouldnt have to change to much IMO.

I just thought it sounded like a good idea. They pay tons of money to Aerosmith for it, when they could keep it for other rides. Not like it would ever happen though.

I understand what you are coming from, but there are a lot of Aerosmith fans out there (including myself) who go on that ride not only because it's awesome but because Aerosmith is in it.

I totally understand. I got the Box of Fire. All the Aerosmith Cds minus the two newer ones of course lol. Anyways, the reason I said that was that could possibly free up some extra money to put in something new or rehab something else. just thought with the amount of money they have to b e paying Aerosmith in royalties, it seemed like a good financial idea.
