Another Magical Express Question

I tried searching for this on my own, but since I couldn't find what I was looking for I thought I would ask you all.
Does anyone know what the order of resorts stops are for Magical Express are?
Are they always in the same order?
I'm just trying to decide if it is worth paying for someone to pick us up or will we waste alot of time waiting?
Any insight would be appreciated.

there has to be 6-10 lines roped off. That go to different resorts. I do not think that they go in any specific order from those individual lines. It is well worth using the magical express over any thing else.

To the best of my knowledge, they group people on buses by which are of the resort they are staying at. Example: All Star Sports/Movie/Music all take one bus. Port Orleans FQ, Riverside, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs all take another bus. I am not totally certain on which resorts are grouped together though. Even on the most crowded buses I have taken, I have never had it take longer than an hour to get from the airport to the resort.

They load buses based on the expected arrivals at the time, so it depends who and how many are arriving at the approximate time you are. If there are enough people arriving at one time to fill one bus for one resort, they'll do that. Generally though, there are set groupings. You'll stop at most three times as I understand it. delays aren't significant enough to worry about.

While resorts are grouped into 4 different geographic zones, it is not written in stone that any particular bus will be loaded in that manner. As MontyMon mentioned, DME knows about how many people are going to which resorts at what times, and they make the most efficient use of their system that they can.

If a bus is dropping people off within one zone, then there can be up to 4 resorts on that bus. If the bus is dropping people off in two or more zones, they limit the maximum number of resorts on the bus to three.

The zones are Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney. They don't all make perfect sense at first glance, such as Pop Century in the AK zone or Fort Wilderness Campground in the DD zone, but it all truly does make good sense.

As far as the ORDER or drop-offs, that is 100% in the hands of the driver. The driver is told where to go for any particular run, but it is up to the driver's whim what the order will be.

When we went our bus went straight to POP and then on to AKL. when my brother went they stopped first at POP and then on to AKL. Neither time did it take long at all. well worth it........

Hey all, I think the order of ddrop offs etc has been taken care of. I would definitely tell you to try DME. It is an AMAZING service. To not have to hassle with your luggage when you get to Orlando, not have to worry about driving or getting driven to your resort etc. is such a relief!!! DME is a great way to start your trip the second that you get to Orlando. Relax, sit back and let the Mouse take care of everything!!!! Belle

I'm sorry to take a hold of the OP's thread but I too have a Magical Express question. I'm going to be using Magical Express in 9 days :sohappy:. Just so I'm clear, if I wanted to I can go get my luggage and then go to the ME welcome center and load the bus? I'm not entirely comfortable not knowing when I will get my luggage if the Magical Express CM's get it for me. This is my 1st time using the Magical Express service so I just want to get all my questions answered. Thanks.

Yes, you can pick up your own luggage and then take them to DME with you. But if you do this, do not put the DME tags on your luggage, or they will automatically go behind the scenes and to your resort!

We have used Disney's Magical Express twice and loved it both times. We never waited more than 15 minutes for the buses to take us to our resort. The drivers were sweet, drive was smooth and the bags to our rooms arrived only a couple of hours after we did. Not having to carry luggage and wait at baggage...priceless!! Being that it is free is even a bonus. :wave:

I clicked your name and noticed that your staying at AKL...

When we stayed at Pop our bus was for Pop, CSR, and AKL; in that order. We had just missed a bus and the wait was about 15mins for the next bus... a little frustrating when your in line with a toddler!

If there's a wait to check-in, a wait for the bus, and several stops before yours, the entire journey can take anywhere from 45 t0 90+mins... but to us, it's still worth it!

We love being surrounded by Disney from the minute we leave the airport, to the minute we get back. Not having to wait and drag around luggage is another huge advantage and gives you that piece of mind if we want to bring that extra bag!

We always plan accordingly though on arrival days. We never schedule ADRs close to our arrival just in case ME does take longer than we expected. Keep in mind that ME will pick you up roughly 3 hours before your departure flight at the hotel; so if you have a 7am flight out, ME will plan on picking you up around 4am :dazzle:
