Annual Passholder/ Ticket Changes 2016

"We're giving Annual Passholder's a MAGICAL 20% discount on merchandise!!!" [All Pixiedusters rejoice] Just ignore the fact that the merch discount was 20% just a few years ago...

I remember being surprised (not sure why) when WDW rolled back the PAP merchandise discount from 20% to 10% in 2011. If I remember correctly, I believe Disneyland kept their equivalent pass at a 20% merchandise discount. Maybe that was one of the things the WDW execs learned on their field trip out to DL. I'm guessing there were a lot of "A-HA!" moments in that "How to Keep Guests Happy 101" class

I agree. It is very overpriced and i did not find the food to be that great. but the discount makes me want to go back and give it try`

With the offer being through January 3rd, would this mean that I would have to use it for the first time by that date? Or could we purchase it online by that date and use it for the first time in March and that would begin our 13 months?

Does the 20% merch discount apply to existing passholders or only new ones?

The extra month is kind of lame. A free month was usually what the equivalent to the renewal price was. Better off would be to make all annual purchases and renewals get 13 months from now til sept 2017.

Any idea if the pass can be purchased now and used later all the while still earning the free month? The fine print doesn't say you have to use the pass during the time...

Figures they introduce this after I schedule a trip that includes a dining plan.

WDW was 10% forever until they went to 20 for the Great Recession it's not like they always had it

I'm happy with the restaurant and merch discount. The extra month really doesn't apply to me as my passes expire in early April but it seems like a nice perk for people getting or renewing passes soon.
