That seems to be what they are insinuating. They say explicitly a dark ride is off the table.

Dang you guys really don't like that "site". Flat rides don't really work in Epcot in my opinion considering it's more education and exploratory based it should be a dark ride at bare minimum.

I have no problem for that site, I used to write for that site actually and enjoyed my time there. The clickbait headlines are a bit much. Tom is a fine dude, he let me as a teenager edit content. I appreciated that.

I would welcome an elegant English carousel, themed to the Jolly Holiday sequence from Mary Poppins, and set in a proper garden or park. However, if this will be a Dumbo or Aladdin style lift, themed to flying a kite, then it will truly be another disappointing thematic decision.
“Flat ride” has been mentioned in the past.

What do you consider the carousel in the MK? I mean, there's no traditional park space around it, but it's a legit, antique carousel with traditional horses. I'm just glad they haven't changed the horses to Simba or other "rideable" characters.
While I'd be disappointed in another carousel in WDW, I'd be more disappointed that it was built instead of a new dark ride. Tons of parks around the country have carousels. Heck, some shopping malls have carousels. Still, there is pleasure to be found from riding one, even as an adult, so c'est la vie.

very disappointing if so. This is a perfect opportunity for a great Poppins dark ride. A spinner is such a cop-out.
Thanks for the response. I know it had been mentioned, along with a dark ride. I was hopeful that the dark ride would prevail. Fingers crossed that things change.

If we are just getting a flat ride in the UK pavilion, I think I would rather get the Coco overlay.
Really had my hopes up for this Poppins dark ride. It's long overdue in my opinion. Let's hope they don't go the cheap route.

I was hoping for a nice dark ride too. If it really is just a carousel or Dumbo-style flat ride, then I could care less.

I am really getting fed up with decisions that are being made at these parks. I would rather have a nice garden or a quiet spot inside a country than throwing a flat ride there. I feel like Disney is skimping on their bigger rides, minus galaxies edge, and supplementing these lower volume "e" tickets with little carnival/six flags kind of rides.
If this rumor of a flat ride being selected is true, I feel like this is another nail in the coffin for Epcot.

Yes, this was always one of the options. The weaker choice but I'm sure it would still be charming in its own right. Just not what the franchise deserves.
