So the consensus from some here seems to be "Oh well, it's better than nothing, and the kiddies will love it!"

Iger loves this reaction. It's why the yeti is still broken in Expedition Everest, because enough people are willing to settle for less.

1) If it’s done well, heck, even just a plain carousel some adults will like too

2) If you’re against rides aimed for kids, are you also against rides aimed primarily at adults that younger kids can absolutely not ride (Everest for example)?

This area is crying out for something of value for the family. A classic style dark ride would be perfect for several reasons.

I don't know what this "other site" is but we sure did get belief and anger pretty quickly based on it.
The site that shall not be named has a convoluted history on reporting rumors. Most of they time they steal their news from users on this site and without credit! As for belief the reason why some are angry is because while the site puts out some duds every now and again sometimes they are right or at least hearing the right things. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that they are right about this! Hope that clears the confusion up!

I think anything is better than nothing but a flat ride is very disappointing. However there is no official announcement yet and I haven't heard any insider say this is greenlit 100 percent on the way. So maybe if enough people show their disappointment things will change. They read the forums so tell them about your disappointment. What other options are there?
If true the good news is this will be quick to build and easy to replace especially if Poppin's becomes a series of movies. If so I'm sure they could easily add too or remove and replace. It could surprise a lot of people and turn out great.

Yes, this was always one of the options. The weaker choice but I'm sure it would still be charming in its own right. Just not what the franchise deserves.

Charm doesn't fix this. lol

We should have known better. I knew they'd pull the same stuff they've pulled in the past.

It's bizarre they know the parks need more yet they continue to make such terrible decisions. It's astounding, really.

When the idea of a ride at the UK came out, @marni1971 was mentioning ideas that spanned B, C, or D Ticket levels.

But when the IP decidedly became Poppins, then D was out the window and it was going to B or C with the B version not being far off from a carousel.

So... the rumor from the NeverSite is within the realm of what we've been hearing all along.

Hope for the C in the end.

Oh, and this is supposed to be a 50th Anniversary thing, so, they still got time yet to build a B or C ride.

A Carousel should be an "extra" attraction. Not *THE* attraction. That's the problem here.

I'd love a Poppins themed carousel but I still want a dark ride. Just a carousel is a lazy and cheap way out. Their M.O. when things aren't forced on them. You can still want a carousel, I'd not object to one either if it didn't sound like *the* choice.

So does this mean Coco is getting overlayed in Mexico? A cheap overlay and a cheap carousel sounds about right for TDO. Wouldn't want a solid overlay AND a dark ride AND a carousel. We can't have that.

People get frustrated for a reason.

This may sound crazy but maybe the imagineers have a modern spin on the carousel. Maybe they have a concept that is innovative...I know it is a stretch, but maybe.

We can only hope...
