But Poppins still seems like an option under consideration, despite what WDW1974 says but I guess we'll see. It's just not the 'favorite'. Unless he knows exactly what was chosen and no one else is willing to spill. It sounds like it's still up in the air. Much like they can't decide on what to replace Stitch with.

And in terms of DL entertainment compared to just the MK, they win in terms of actual acts, like the Bootstrappers, Laughing Stock Co. in the Horseshoe, I believe Straw Hatters, or something like that. MK lacks big time in terms of entertainment. AK has the best variety, IMHO. DHS has none really besides SW stage shows but I love the Streetmosphere. DCA also has a nice selection of entertainment. Epcot has a good variety.

Anyway, back to the UK pavilion attraction ...

Trust me, after last year when Spirit says something, it will inevitably happen.

Oh I'm well aware of his track record. But we're still being told by other trusty insiders that Poppins seems to be under consideration but not the favorite. So sometimes we have varying information being given. I believe him if he says Poppins isn't happening. I don't think he needs to throw out the 'fanboi' thing, he seems to dislike wild speculation and fan driven scenarios but Poppins as a ride would be a great addition.

And my thing is, Poppins isn't just 'fanboi hope based', we've been told that it was under consideration so it's not as if we all just decided it would be Poppins and ran with it ... lol

While true, I feel like every time an insider comments on it here, it is in the context of "something else is more likely" and that's been so consistent with everyone saying it that I think Mary Poppins is unlikely to be used. My guess: there's already a non-Poppins Plan A which is in active development and the only way Poppins would be considered is if the suits change their mind or they encounter problems with the current plans that render it unfeasible.

Quoting my own list of Disney's British IPs
  1. Mr. Toad
  2. Mary Poppins
  3. The Sword in the Stone
  4. Robin Hood
  5. 101 Dalmatians
  6. Alice in Wonderland
  7. Peter Pan
  8. Winnie-the-Pooh
  9. the Great Mouse Detective
  10. Brave
If it isn't Poppins ( :(), I guess it would be down to Toad, Alice, or Brave. And of those three, I just see WDW choosing Alice or Brave over the literal car ride to hell.

Slight issue with Brave- literally right across the lake is another ride that includes a princess and a queen. While neither Elsa nor Anna are officially licensed Disney Princesses (and Elsa really shouldn't be included since she spends most of her film as a queen), there's still the argument of too many princesses in the World Showcase.

Were the ones not highlighted debunked by insiders??

Not yet it's not. There's plenty more drama left yet.

Yep, it's been put back a few years now, for sure.

And to the topic in hand, I'm wondering if it's not actually an IP but some historical attraction. Hampton Court could lend itself to Henry VIII, but I think it's a little limiting. I can see something about writers perhaps. Easy enough to include some from all 4 nations, even tie in with IPs if they want to.

I could see Alice working. They, somewhat recently, enhanced the ride in California so they could easily replicate the order, and the ride itself takes up a small footprint. Would be rather easy and cheap, compared to developing something from scratch.

Not yet. I'm just finding it very hard to believe that we'd have Pan or Pooh represented in dark rides at MK

Although very unlikely, relocating Pan isn't the worst idea. It has a proven popularity and would allow for them to rework the bottleneck in MK without relocating IASW. Could prove to be a genius move, especially if they upgraded the ride technology.

It would be cool if based on TSMM technology... that way, no CMs wind up at the Celebration hospital with arrows to the knee ;)
Nah it'd have to be an upcharge. Like the Frontierland shooting gallery, only with fake bows equipped with "lasers" or whatever tech the fake rifles use. Aim to be as average as possible!

How about a ride where we race Mini Cooper's around London and other famous U.K. locations while listening to different famous UK bands. Heck, make the Mini Cooper's time machines and while we race through time, the music that plays is a band from that era. From the Beetles to Cold Play, there will be something for everyone! I should be an imagineer lol.

I love the idea of using original mini coopers as a ride vehicle, a dark ride through 60s swinging London would be great (think Austin powers) but personally I'd love to see a ride based on the original Italian job movie chase with Michael Caine that would be fantastic but which pavilion would it go in UKmor Italy !!
