The most important date in the Time-Space Continuum!

"You're not gonna' believe this Doc. We have to go back to 1955!"
-Marty

"I don't believe it!"
-Doc

Heavy...

There's that word again; "heavy". Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?

Where are my pants?
Over there...on my hope chest.

And since I'm among colleagues... ever wonder how many times the Delorean travelled through time?

bttf-timeline.jpg

Ok...let's see if I have this right.

1. Original 1 minute jump with Einstein in it (driven by radio control).
2. Marty goes back to 1955 to outrun the terrorists.
3. Marty goes back to 1985 to return home (the infamous lightning striking the clocktower)
4. Doc takes the Delorean to 2015. (This is never shown)
5. Doc comes back from 2015 to 1985 (at the end of the first film).
6. Doc, Marty, and Jennifer go from 1985 to 2015.
7. Biff steals delorean and travels back to 1955 (with almanac posted above).
8. Biff travels back to 2015.
9. Doc, Jennifer, and Marty travel from 2015 to 1985 (finding it "Biff-afied")
10. Doc and Marty travel back to 1955 to get the almanac away from Biff.
11. Doc and Marty travel back to 1985.
12. Doc is struck by lightning sending him back to 1885.
13. Marty, finding the Delorean in the mine shaft, goes back to 1885.
14. The final ride is Marty going from 1885 to 1985...where the Delorean is struck by the train.

I come up with 14 times too...but the arrows don't match up with my breakdown. Did I screw up?

I was picking up some stuff at Ace Hardware a couple of weeks ago and there were two Deloreans sitting in the lot.

One license plate was "FLUXING" and the other was "THEFUTR"

I am not sure what 5 is...it doesn't look right. That is what screws everything else up.

If I remember right, after his initial leap to the future, Doc does another jump of a few days apart within 2015 when researching Marty's family.

Either way, it's still a time-jump. The problem with the original posted one is that it omits Doc jumping from 2015 to some other point in time to find out what happens to Marty, then goes back to 1985 and promptly crashes into the McFlys' poor defenseless trash cans. Likewise, it adds in something that never happened: Doc and Marty never travel back to 1985. From the year 1955 is when Doc gets struck by lightning and is sent back to 01/01/1885.

...What can I say? BTTF is my "Star Wars", if that makes any sense.

Could be...the timeline here doesn't mention it, though.

It's a tricky one... If I remember right, while Doc is explaining the plan to Marty in the alley, he shows him the USA Today (Hill Valley Edition) and somewhat off-handedly mentioning that he'd jumped backward a few days to get the newspaper. On his first trip to the future, he'd jumped ahead exactly thirty years to the day (October 26th, 2015), and when he makes the trip with Marty and Jennifer, they arrive on October 21st.

The second one...

Today, is the anniversary of the invention of one of, if not THE, most important piece of technology ever invented...and we can't even touch one yet!

Today, November 5, 2008 marks the 53rd anniversary (YES, it's 53 years old!!!) of the....

The Flux Capacitor! November 5, 1955 Doc Brown slipped and banged his head and he had a vision of the flux capacitor...which makes time travel possible!

Thank you Doctor Emmett Brown. I salute you!

OH CRAP! I was beat to the punch by myself! I better get out of here before myself from an hour and a half ago sees me...which could cause a paradox in the space-time continuum!!!

:ROFLOL:

OMG HAHAHAHAHAHAH.

That was really funny.

you got it. I forgot that he was struck by lightning in 1955 and not 1985.

I say we just plop that flux capacitor onto the traveling theater cars at Universe of Energy, cram in as many EPCOT fans as possible, chill out in 1987 or so for a while, and then pop ahead to have a sit-, er..., ride-in at Horizons on January 9th, 1999. If it doesn't succeed, at the end of the day we travel back in time to the beginning of the day so that there will then be twice as many of us. And just repeat until there is enough of us that Disney is forced to keep it open! :D They'll never have known what hit them! And then use the same tactic to save World of Motion, Journey Into Imagination, 20,000 Leagues, Mr. Toad, and maybe the Skyway! Oh, and If You Had Wings/DreamFlight wouldn't hurt, either, just as long as they end up building something like Buzz Lightyear.

wait.... if you do that then there is a chance you would meet yourself... and cause mass chaos with the timeline... possibly cause Epcot to cease to exist today!
