Katharine's Somewhere Over The Rainbow might have been great, but it was nowhere near being as good as THIS!

Elliott is toast. I disagree with anyone who thinks he's got anything that would translate into a career in the industry. He has serious problems in his lower registers, no personality and bad teeth. Only one of the three can be readily fixed.

Taylor was amazing, by far the best of the night.

Kat needed to pick a contemporary song and make it her own. Rainbow was an excellent example of her capability to make a song her own without destroying it, but she needed to do the same with her choice.

I think Idol can retire Clive Davis, his choices didn't suit any of the remaining three.

I think the judges and Clive did a much better job picking songs than the contestants did. The wimpy power-ballad "Open Arms" was right for Elliott. Katharine and her incredible vocal range were pitch-perfect for "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", and "You Are So Beautiful" was tailor-made for Taylor. It's impossible for me to choose between those last two I mentioned for Best Performance of the Season. Both were incredible.

I think Clive chose "I Believe I Can Fly" for Katharine so that her penchant for smiling during her performances would not detract.

Elliott sealed his fate with his last song. That song is supposed to have some edge, and he has none.

DialIdol is showing pretty much a tie between Kat and Elliott. They are both really close w/ Kat just beating him. Taylor is way above them though. We already know Taylor has won anyways....BOO!

Maybe the person going home's votes will go to the other next week.
Face it, Taylor has won. There's even a rumor going around that his cd is already is production and will be released during the Idol tours.

Well, I did my part and voted for the three hours; however it was HARD to get through!

Nice :)

I wish it was easy to hate Taylor then I might actually vote next week, but I really like the guy. He makes me laugh and seems like a genuine good person. I still hope Katharine or Elliott wins, but I would be happy for Taylor if he did win though.

And isn't winning at this point just a formality. These guys are all going to get contracts and I think 2 or 3 could be quite successful.

I think that this year it will just be a formality. I think that in the cases of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood it mattered. This year, we have 3 average Idols in the top 3 that could each see some success. Katharine has potential but will need someone to help her out. Elliott could get a makeover and be something, again with some help. Taylor will either be an openning act for the rest of his life, or he will have a successful career in Vegas/Casinos.

Best Idol season ever. Fantastic night and 2nd only to the Rod Stewart night.

Taylor did a fantastic job. I thought his first song was his best of the night. Dancing In The Dark was perfect for him. You Are So Beautiful was ok for me, the judges severely overrated it IMO. He made terrible Joe Cocker facial expressions and screwed around with the word annunciations too much. The 3rd was really good except for the stupid ending. Easily his best night, IMO. Still my 3rd choice of the 3 left, but much better and he has this competition in the bag because he's so full of crap and doesn't care :)

Elliott did a great job tonight, IMO. He has a knack of picking songs that I've never heard of and make them sound like Elliott originals. But that is also his problem because nobody remembers the songs he sings usually. 1st was pretty good with Open Arms. 2nd was really good with the Paula choice. And his 3rd was FANTASTIC. This will be his last week, but he did a great job and he is EASILY the most improved singer in this competition. He's going to make it, no doubt in my mind.

Kat, Kat, Kat. First off, why in the name of God did Clive pick "I Believe I Can Fly"? TERRIBLE song choice. Why didn't he pick I Will Always Love You or the Titanic song if he was going to pick a cheesy, overplayed song? She made it her own though and did the best with what she was given. 2nd song was the best of the night EASILY. She was made for that song. 3rd song was ok. She's really good at blues and soul, but hasn't pick a great song yet.
Good luck next week!

1st round - Taylor
2nd round - Katharine
3rd round - Elliott

I really think the judges understated how good Elliott's 3rd round song was. Unfortunately he'll definitely be going home though. Katharine's 2nd song should get her in the finals.

Agreed.

It looked to me last night that he had gotten some work done on his teeth. They didn't look as crooked. His hair is much better than at the start of the show.

I would bet that he'll get those teeth fixed as soon as possible.
But, of course, you can't mess with your mouth while competing in a singing competition!
Unfortunately for him.

Is it 5:00 yet?
When the top 12 were announced it never even crossed my mind that Taylor would win..not even close. I don't think he will make a good cd. He's somewhat intertaining to watch but to just listen to his voice...:hurl:

I was always for Chris...I'll buy his cd for sure!
