American Idol: Season 8!

I always set the PVR to record whatever is after Idol. I'm amazed the network tolerates that they can't time-manage at all. Even the most popular show on TV should at least try not to run over. Last night was only an hour because they're down to 8, they ran 8 minutes over their time - that's insane!

I kinda liked Kris, but the mosh-pit performances don't help the performers. They can't move around at all and often you can't see the instrument they're playing - a head sticking up out of the crowd singing isn't going to give any "stage presence". Matt had the same problem when he tried it.

Either Lil or Scott should go, I hope they're not stupid enough to 'save' Lil... She's not worthy. I think Adam, Danny and Allison are the only ones deserving of a save at this point and Danny's slipping.

Yeah...I really should fix that...you'd think I would have learned the last time, after it happened. :lol:

I agree...I think a lot of what the judges don't like is the mosh pit thing. Because you're right, it doesn't give them a chance to really showcase themselves, since they are stuck with nowhere to go.

I also hope they aren't stupid enough to use the save...at this point, to me, it has to be someone who is phenominal to be worthy and lately, she hasn't been phenominal. Matter of fact, she's be just ok. But, I fear if she does go, they will try to save her.

My comments on tonight:...

Bottom Three: Anoop, Scott, and Lil.
Not Going Home: Lil (they'll use the SAVE for her if she's the lowest vote getter).
Going Home: Anoop. Sorry, dawg.

I agree with your bottom three...

However... I wasn't that impressed with Adams performance. I do think it was good, but I didn't think it was as good as the judges said it was. My favorite performance goes to Matt. I'm not a big fan of Allison; my DH really likes her, but I'm not a fan at all. I agree with what Simon said about her, not being very 'likeable' - I think he said. Kris was 'eh-ok'... and Danny was good, even tho it did sound alot like the original, he did well.

My DVR allows me to add time when I set it to record (record with options). I always add 10-15 minutes to reality shows that are aired live, just in case.

When watching Adam's performance from last night on Idol's site, I looked at the number of stars each contestant got... (you know, where you can rate the video) Scott got the lowest amount, followed by Lil, and then Kris...so, if I had to bet, I would bet they are the bottom three, and Scott with the lowest, might be going then.

I think its more of saving the save in case there is a upset. What if they save Scott this week and Allison is sent voted out next week. I think they can use the save for the next two weeks.

Yeah, Scott probly did get the least amount of votes... however, he has had many performances that we much better than Anoop or Lil.

I haven't enjoyed more than two of Scott's performances since the top 12 started. He was due [Lil should have been beside him in the bottom two].

The "save" was announced as a way to correct when the person sent home is a real shock to the audience and the judges, Danny, Matt or Adam and maybe Allison could be that level of shock, not Scott. If you were shocked, you're one of the few.

True... everyone's entitled to their own opinion....... As I remember, the judges were far more impressed with more of Scotts performances than Anoops.... Oh well..... it would have been nice to have him play his piano again.

Thoughts on the results show....

1. What was up with Frankie at the beginning? Kind of odd and out of place.
2. So happy they didn't lip sync the group number. They sounded terrible but that makes it entertaining.
3. Not surprised by the bottom three.
4. Not surprised Scott went home. It would be pointless to use the save. If they did, he'd just end up going home next week.
5. Scott did better with the song tonight than last night.
6. Scott was so likable! I will miss him.
7. I feel bad that Scott couldn't actually see his little "going home" video.
8. Can't wait to watch Scott on Idol Extra tonight!

See, my take on it, is the judges save should only be used, if and only if they believe that person has a chance to win it all. If they believe that, then it should be used, if not, then it shouldn't. To me, they got it right tonight. While Scott seems like such a great guy...he really isn't talented enough to win the whole competition...therefore, it was right that they sent him home.

Exactly...I think I just watched something on VH1 here about some 80s stuff and this song was always meant to be kind of "interesting"
