I had heard that Carsland was also dead in the water, sadly enough. I think that would have been an awesome fit back by LMA and the Backlot tour area. Such is not to be however! Marie

I guess I'm the only one kind of sad to see this go. I always enjoyed going to one of the shows during the day. :( I understand it if it's true though since it doesn't seem very popular and American Idol is way passed its peak. But I'm worried that the show closing will leave the theater empty indefinitely. Hopefully if this is true Disney has a plan for a new show/attraction to go in there.

Rooting for USF and IOA to reach 10 million in attendance by 2016.. might finally get TDO to realize that the resort needs help. MK has to fix its bottleneck in the northwest corner and update/expand/renovate Tomorrowland. Epcot needs a Future World revamp and some rides/pavilions added to WS. DHS needs anything. AK needs anything too

Honestly I feel like AK is in the second best position of all the parks, even without the Avatar believe it or not. Epcot just needs something from scratch, and DHS doesn't supply the amazing day that it claims to.

And i feel so ashamed..what does TDO stand for exactly??:(

Carsland would have cannabalized from Disneyland. Same reason I doubt WDW will get an Indy clone. It pays to build unique attractions when you are investing at that level.

A scaled down Carsland makes sense because merch sales will justify it. DL could get a scaled down Pandora for the same reason.

But it makes no sense for DL and WDW to compete directly with each other.

Clones of rides like Mermaid make sense due to the economics.

IMO.

BTW, I would question the motives of anyone in the decision making process who advocated for a clone of Carsland. Especially after the mouse aquired the Star Wars franchise. Potter fears The Force.

I agree DHS needs to go all in with the power of the force, I really would love to see two new rides, upgraded Jedi training show, and a restaurant

Apparently TDO doesn't consider it a sure thing... Star Wars is equal to and even surpasses Potter in popularity/timelessness.

TDO has little say in large capital projects anymore. I am sure they can make proposals but ultimately Iger and the board decide. If it does not promote a franchise don't even consider it.

At least that is how it appears from the outside looking in.

But, as someone mentioned earlier, no big projects will happen soon because they are ahead of Uni still and see no real need to.
