If you reread the quoted section, you'll see that Crazy Omurice (is that name supposed to sound like "Old Maurice"? Because it's apt.) is specifically mentioning the contestants.
Further, I think it's inane to expect the judges and host to actually be who they're portraying. No, chances are the Simon-esque host is not actually from London, much the same way that Christian Bale isn't actually an orphaned billionaire playboy with a leather fetish.
Well, this is a terrible shame. My friend Leslie and I were gonna make a special trip in September just to see this show, as it would be closing soon. Turns out we'll already be too late. (sigh)
Weird Al show please.
You've got two weeks. What are you doing tomorrow?
Just because they're performing a character doesn't mean they don't have a musical ear. Heck, I'm pretty sure that, after the qualifying round, all the voting is done by the audience. The judges just provide color commentary. But if it is a real song contest, where the contestant can compete for real, then advance to appear on television, as a contestant you would find it inane to expect some type of real judge panel?
You're blaming the AIE for you rushing through your meal? You could have made the decision to skip the meal or just not do the show. That's your own fault.I for one am glad to see AIE go. My wife has a beautiful voice and was chosen as a finalist and so we had to rush our ADR at Ohana only for her to lose. What a waste of a $230 meal (I only got to drink one Lapu Lapu too!). Good riddance!
This exactly!!! The sad thing is AIE had already become it seems the sort of orphanage for various Equity performers who's other shows/clubs had been closed already. I'm glad the Frozen show has the Historians as another place for the "improv comedy" performer at WDW. They're such a unique kind of entertainment and it's a shame to see the roles available for them reduced over the years.Equity actors can't just be "reassigned" to other shows, as some have suggested. Besides the obvious fact that those other shows already have a cast (what are you going to do? Fire them?), equity performers have a contract for specific shows not with the resort. Yes,some will wind up staying but the majority of them will be out of work at the end of this month.
Also, the "Arrendale Historians" are equity as well. One of them played Gaston down the street for years and years before being aged out of that role.
That's all entirely true, I'm a musical theatre major in college so I know how the business works. The thing is that for awhile or a long it seemed you could have a steady job as an Equity performer at Walt Disney World because there were so many shows and parts for equity performers. It seems that those gigs are harder to come by these days at WDW.I'm sure it's a hardship on anyone who is let go as a result of this show closing, but it's the nature of the business. If you are an actor on a tv show, a dancer on a muscian's tour or a performer in a Broadway show when your show ends it's run you are out of work. You start looking for your next gig. Many people end up working odds and ends jobs until their next opportunity comes along. It's one of the biggest drawbacks of that kind of work, but if that's your passion you really have no choice. There are very few places where you can get a creative type job where you are acting or singing or dancing that lasts indefinitely.
AIE had its run. I can't say I'm sorry to see it go. I wish they were replacing it with something from a galaxy far, far away, but I'm trying to be patient with that
Why would they not just put the comedy show at Premier? For the holidays, I bet it will be the Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special so Frozen can return to the Premier Theater.
