Am I the only one...

It depends on how long of a trip i am taking if i unpack my suitcase or not. If its just a couple of days, i dont, but a week or longer, i will unpack.

Nope, we never unpack. Its just easier for us to open the suitcase, take it out, and shut the suitcase. All the pants/shorts are on one side, all the tees and tops on the other. Socks and undies in another tote bag. We have a separate tote we use for dirty laundry. :)

who doesn't unpack my suitcase?? I live out of it on vacation.
I just don't see the point when I have to repack it in like 5 days.

My wife does this as well...it drives me crazy! I'm not sure why, I'm just one of those people who needs to unpack...even if I'm only staying overnight somewhere.

I guess I don't like the clutter caused by living out of a suitcase. Plus it's easy for me to figure out what I have clean for the rest of the trip.

I always unpack and put it in drawers if I'm staying longer than 2 days.

At FW it was tough since there were only 2 drawers (albeit giant) each on the opposite side of the room lol

Before we had kids, we never unpacked. My husband and I each had our own suitcase, and it was pretty easy to manage without unpacking.

But with kids, I have to unpack or I would waste too much time trying to locate things. I have one very large suitcase that I pack my stuff in as well as my kids things. I assign each kid and myself a drawer, assign another drawer for things like hats and sunglasses, and so on. Makes it much easier for everyone to get ready in the morning and to get ready for bed each night, because they know exactly where each item they need is located.

Also, I find that packing to go home is much easier if I have unpacked. If I didn't unpack, I'd have to dump it all out anyway because in order to get it all to fit I have to roll the clothes, arrange the larger items a certain way, etc...it is like putting a puzzle together!

My husband, however, still lives out of his suitcase on our trips because he has a smaller one that only contains his belongings.

I live out of the suitcase for any length of trip. But I pack exactly how much I need. As I generate laundry I let it air out in the room rather than pack it right up. By the end of the trip the bag is empty and I put my laundry in it. I always save room for souvenirs when I pack prior to the trip from home.
Also I like to keep things as packed as possible in case the hotel is overtaken by enemies I can escape as swiftly as possible.

Same here, I always wonder what the TSA people would say if they open my bag.
One of the last times we went with the whole family in the summer,I had one suitcase with the dirty clothes, smelly shoes, etc in, and clean clothes and souvenirs in the others. When we got home, we found a note from TSA inside the smelly one that they had opened it for further inspection. They probably thought we had a dead body in it or something, with that smell!

I actually put my dirty clothes in the dresser. :)

Ok so we are not weird, we do the same. We don't unpack the suite cases we just put the dirty clothes (we each claim a different drawer) in the dresser. Then we just dump them back into the suitcases when we leave.

and I don't unpack because people use drawers as laundry baskets.:animwink:
Also don't sit naked on the bed spread....for the most part.

We also unpack everything. We then use the plastic WDW bags to pack our dirty laundry in to and put those bags into the suitcases as they fill up. When we have to leave we just load up any of the clean clothes pack up anything we purchased and away we go!

I unpack... suitcases go back out to the car (we drive) then laundry goes into the laundry bag all week. When it is time to go home we grab the laundry bag and put the toiletries back in their case.

DH unpacks all his stuff...but I live out of my LLBEAN rolling duffle bag. Then we will use his for dirty. Any clean left hanging or in draws of DH will get packed in with my clean left in my duffle..shoes go home with dirty. By me having to turn lights on and dig thru the duffle that is the warning to everyone its time to get up!!! Has worked well for us!!!

We don't unpack. I carry 2 suitcases, a duffle, a makeup case, a backpack and a purse. Plus whatever my husband & daughter bring. That is way too many suitcases & too much time that would be wasted unpacking. We are bad and leave the dirty clothes piled up in a corner somewhere or in the bathroom. At the end of the trip I we are able to consolidate all the clean clothes that are left into one suitcase & use 2 suitcases for dirty clothes.

& Yes I know I may be a bit of an excessive packer. :p

You are definitely not alone! Thinking back on all of my vacations, I NEVER unpack my suitcase... I don't know why exactly- but I guess it never made much sense to me to unpack... Somehow getting everything to fit back into the luggage is a lot more trouble already so I don't like to make it any worse! :)

Yeah, I don't know. I've always just left them in my suitcase. I put dirty clothes in the bags they have in the rooms.

BUT... I don;t "re-pack" to go home. I literally throw everything in and push it down to make it zipper up. I'll wash it all when I get home anyway.
