All Tomorrowland, All the time (Has Disney given up on the TTA?)

Yea. Refurbing and updating out of date attractions is completely different.

You are pulling straws here. Look at HM. Look at HoP. They can do it, and do it easily.
How about not having Future World and Tomorrowland in the same resort. The concept of the future is the most difficult concept to keep fresh, and Disney has proven that maintaining these two themes (which are really the same) is difficult.

Before someone jumps down my throat about Future World being different from Tomorrowland - in implementation they are different, but in terms of the names used Future World and Tomorrowland are the same. Future World is really Discoveryland and Tomorrowland is really Sci-Fi Land.

I think it would be much easier to change the name of Future World than it would be to change the name of Tomorrowland, but really the cohesion is largely predicated on the misnaming of the two lands.

I think this further emphasizes why Future World should be renamed to Discoveryland. The World's Fairs were about new technologies, but more importantly they were about new discoveries.

I could not disagree more, sorry!

In name, and in name only, I believe iis the similarity of the two lands. Renaming only shows that they are giving up and being generic in this case.
If they want to FIX the problem, and not ignore it, they should bring a cohesive theme to EACH of the lands. TL should be a Spaceport, or Space City. Doesn't have to be Retro, like the one we have, but you get the idea. FW should be about Discovery, yes, but Discovery in the FUTURE. What it was intended to be and what it should be, IMHO. The current modern and "discovery" view of the park will get old now, and quick.
I would even arge that it already is.

I'll call off the troops...;)

SO interesting about your thoughts on the "Management" or lack there of...It only runs perfectly concurrent with what I have recorded.

;)

Ah, I see what you mean, but a year ago...TL was going to be BnL City.
I am actually happy that did not happen.

I LOVE Wall-E,but a whole land after 1 film is crazy.

Something similar,yes,but NOT BnL land.

I agree. However, I do think it was going to be in look and aesthetics only.

But asking that to happen all the time at one park isn't realistic, IMO.
Can you stop putting words in my mouth?:rolleyes:

I never said that. I said UPDATEABLE, but not all at the same time. What I meant was new films, AA's scenarios for certain rides....

Nah....not really.
That was a proposed concept, but didn't get very far.
I had heard otherwise, to be honest with you. They went so far as to have WDI walk around the place (or maybe that isn't so far?) and I know there were renderings.

I don't think it would have changed the look of the land THAT much, though...It was more of a overlay than a whole rehaul.

Yes. They did walk around, renderings were done, etc.
Based on that a concept was devised. It was pitched at some level, but died a swift death.
The thematic issues would have been not so much about the look, but the whole issue of having Buzz, Stitch, CoP, etc existing in a Wall-E world. Mish-mashes like that are doomed to fail.

I actually don't think we disagree at all. Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom should be the Sci-Fi Spaceport/Interplanetary Convention Center and Futureworld should be about discovering new technologies.

The distinction is, that Futureworld has been about the history of discovery not just new discoveries. That's why I think Discoveryland is a more appropriate name than Future World.

I've been saying that for years. Futureworld is a very dated name. Today we're not as focused on the idea of this great beautiful future as we are on what we can learn based on what we've already known. I think the concept of Discoveryland would be much easier to maintain and keep thematically correct. I know that purists would probably get in a tizzy about changing the name. The blogs would go nuts with how imagineering didn't have the ability to be creative enough to keep changing Futureworld so they did a cop out, etc... But I really think its the best option.

I agree.

The problem is, Discoveryland is already associated with the Jules Verne concept in Euro Disney. Besides, Future World has a nice ring to it. (although it is not fully accurate, architecture aside.)
