As for the corridor effect...I wouldn't hold your breathe. It would have been amazing though.

Might you be able to elaborate on what it would have been? I've heard talk of things involving fog and the likes . . . It makes me wonder, it can't be a proper ghost effect since at that point in the ride Leota hasn't summoned the ghosts yet . . . ? I just wonder what could be that amazing in that showscene, but everyone seems to be impressed by the idea

Jungle Cruise...let's just say these recent changes were only the beginning.
Hatbox? :zipit: ;)

There is no need for :zipit:. I have it on good authority that a new Hatbox Ghost AA is being added as I said in my first post. There is actually someone on another board who claims to have seen the new AA and Disney has basically been confirming the new charecter since Disneylands 50th. As for why its taking so long I have no clue but I think it was a matter of "saving the best surprise for last" (HM's 40th).

I never heard of a corridor effect before but I do know WDI is going to keep tinkering with Haunted Mansion just like Lucas loves tinkering with his old films.

Here are the hints Disney has been dropping:

- First thing the imagineers did when the upgraded HM's opened at Disneyland and WDW was a pile of hatboxs in the exact location where the AA stood in all his glory before being removed during soft opening.
- The story of the mansion was altered to help set up this charecter (hence why Constance has a bloody axe and the Hatbox Ghost was a decapitated groom).
- More Hatbox faces have been added to DL's mansion
- Tony Baxter talks up Hatbox ghost every chance he gets
- The 40th. anniversary is being heavily marketed around the charecter

Between the new HOP and Haunted Mansion being the gift that keeps on giving expect Liberty Square to be the most crowded/popular land in the park soon. It helps that the new manager of that area is from Disneyland and is bringing the land back up to true Disney standards (I believe its the same guy running Adventureland).

I was just walking along the sidewalk at the Grand Floridian a couple of minutes ago and noticed what looked like a crane up at the MK tonight. Possibly for the Hall of Pres refurb? It looked to be to the left side of the castle.

If they do add the Hatbox Ghost, I would imagine (and hope) they do not put him opposite the bride, in her old spot. In the brief moment before leaving the attic, there is barely enough time to look at the bride, let alone another figure on the other side of the track. Also, I don't see the cartoony Hatbox Ghost blending well with the "real" bride and grooms.

So if not there, then where? (remember, the mansion's "rules" would require him to be after the séance room, where the spirits "materialize")

I think he'd be great in that turn between the ballroom and the attic, although there's not much space there now. They could also find a way of putting him just outside the attic, maybe looking down as you descend backwards.

I suppose so, and hope you are right, but I don't know about LS being crowded.:o Maybe if they add another attraction....but, eh. Still, glad that they are considering plussing HM EVEN THOUGH it was just refurbed. That's bringing back old Disney standards.:)

You know that door that bends outward like someone is pushing down/up on the ends? Well the idea, or so I have been told, was to have the door become fabric in the middle, and a face would protrude out of it, like something was trying very hard to escape.
