Probably looking for a scapegoat.

It does seem fairly obvious this is a last minute and relatively unplanned shut down that even cast members of the attraction didn't know about much in advance. It screams of ride not functional without this action being taken a la Space Mountain in DL.

Maybe the channel had sprung a leak that was filling the huge sink hole under Mission Space and all of a sudden they worried they'd have two "Seas" attractions instead of a space attraction?! I kid...

The refurb is strange news to me. Weren't the boats just refurbished a few years back to get rid of the tour guides?

:D Yeah but at least it has some good edu-tainment. I don't see the Living Seas with a touch screen pop quiz.

Where? Reading the plaques? The whole purpose of EPCOT is for it to be a passive experience that informs and inspires you. Where Nemo does that is beyond me.

Did you miss the touch screens? My little sis spent half an hour on it answering questions about sea creatures. It is very educational. The ride downstairs.....

No LWTL went down for Refurb in 2006 but all they really did was make the switch to the automated system. This is pretty bad planning if you ask me, If they figured they would need new boats soon they should have just done it them.

You'd think if all that is changing is the addition of new boats, that they could simply just cycle the new boats in as they come and phase out the old ones. It seems to me as if this refurb is more than simply the addition of new boats. Maybe we'll actually see some notable improvements to the ride this time...

I read (dont remember where) that the new boats would require some tweaking of the canals because they are longer.

Should be some changes to videos and maybe the ending.
