Back to the subject (even though this is a fun discussion)...

Since the finishing/plussing/whathaveyou of SSE is being done on a 3rd shift basis, do you think it is just going to pop up as done one morning or do you think it might be able to be predicted?

If I had to guess, it will just be there one day. Although, it is possible that we will see some kind of noticeable change in the touch screen stuff beforehand, like testing the new questions or something to that effect.

I have to agree with the Space Pavilion. IMO, when Disney decided to make M:S just a ride instead of a traditional pavilion was a big mistake. Are the days of the big pavilion with multiple exhibits dead?
I dont know, Mission: SPACE seems like an Epcot pavilion to me. It sort of follows Test Track, the extensivly themed queue, the pre videos, then the ride, and after an exhibit area with a gift shop. Advanced Training Lab has the space exhibits.

I feel the same way about TT as I do about M:S.

If that's the way it turns out...YOW. Gonna be one heck of a shock for some local fanboi.:D

I think many people, myself included think of a pavilion as a "land" in other parks. It should have several attractions with "something for everyone". Energy is the least like a pavilion in that it has one show even though it has several "chapters". But basically it is a single ride. Space has some post show games but that is about it and Test Track has some post show exhibits but thats all. SSE does quite a bit with the small footprint it has and I think works as a pavilion. It's an intro to Future World and once completed will function very well.

The 3 pavilions (lands) that make up FW West are pavilions in the true sense of the word. The Land is the most realized but I think within 5 years both Imagination and The Seas might be on the same level in their scope. Of course that is conjecture or possibly just wishful thinking.

End of dissertation :lookaroun sorry

I still say that WOL was the best realization of a pavilion in EPCOT Center's history. 1 E-ticket, 1 D-Ticket and several C, B, and A-Tickets. It showcased what Walt said a theme park should be b/c it offered something for everyone.

:lol:Very well said.

Interesting thoughts on Nemo though...I dunno, but I think we will be stuck with the bratty fish for a while.:dazzle:

Wow...Interesting take. I loved WoL, but it never gave me SSE Goosebumps.:lookaroun:lol: You know what I mean, right? It's good and all, but I think it lacked the inspiration.

I agree with that. Other pavilions in EC had better subject matters, but as a whole WOL is the ultimate example of what an EC pavilion should be, IMO.

Honestly, I only cared for Cranium Command at WOL. :lookaroun

The pavilions of FW and WS were kind of set up as 'lands' when EPCOT Center debuted.

As FW has been Walmarted/dumbed down, that's much less so.

The Land is the only pavilion that really follows the original EC ideals. Although SSE and even EEA are close. Seas, whether you like the cartooning or not, really comes close too (although I;d argue in a much lesser way than the original did). Imagination could ... one day.

Look at the Land this way ... it has two really major attractions and one decent other attraction ... it has a full serve restaurant, food court, small gift shop area (was larger before Soarin) and you can take a behind-the-scenes tour too.

If you did all of the above and depending on waits, you could spend between 3-6 hours in the pavilion. That's more along the lines of the late, great EPCOT Center.

WoL definitely was exactly what a real FW at its height was ... you had three major attractions (one a thrill ride) ... you had 3-4 minor attractions and exhibits that you could spend as little or as much time as you wanted exploring.

And you had dining and retail as well.

All under one roof too!

I agree with that. Food, various attractions, E-ticket thrill ride, exhibits and cohesive theme.........and easily converted to a Mars Base Station with all the same features.

And I could imagine them converting the old theater show where Cranium Command was into a terrifying AE type attraction where at the end of the show it would be revealed to be a practical joke the Mars veterans play on all rookies from Earth when they first arrive.

Once an Armchair Imagineer always an armchair imagineer.
