So they can spend tons of money/make a cool corporate lounge, but they wont finish the ride and instead leave it undone and looking like crap. :brick:
Sorry but something is wrong there.

Believe me, the ride being unfinished is NOT Siemens' fault. They pumped a lot of cash into that thing.

I was very please/surprised to see the interest Siemens' executives seemed to put into the ride on their visit. It was very cool.

You rang? :D

DACS - Digital Animation Control System - was indeed part of Central at EPCOT Center - running the attraction show elements.

MACS was the Monitoring and Control System of the park, monitoring for any potential problems park wide.

ECS (pronounced X) controls the environment; exterior lighting, water features and event lighting and PA control.

I believe MACS and X are still controlled from Central; DACS was disbanded and moved to each individual attraction for local control.

Martin!:sohappy::lol: Awesome as usual. So DACS is in EC and MK? Is there one for every park?

I am bookmarking this, BTW.

I`m a bit hazy on this, but I believe Disney MGM had no centralised DACS when built since it had a handful of attractions, was a working movie studio, and DACS was being slowly removed from EPCOT Central. For example I know that all the sound effects in Indiana Jones used to be triggered live by hand in the show booth using MIDI and Commodore Amiga 2000's. I *think* MGM did have a form of X, and I`d guess DAK does too, if only for area loops and park lighting.

Wow. Very interesting...I'm surprised that IJ was hand done. I guess it was easier for the actors?

Either way, facinating...Now, where's that book?:D

More for show.... they had to match to variables for each individual show. Hand punches, whip cracks. They could slip a tenth or several of a second either way.

I believe it was. I`m told of at least 2 times in the 80`s when it happened. Very surreal with no fountains, no BGM, no nothing apart from standby systems.

Indeed.:dazzle: Must have been erie...You think of an area in EPCOT, you think of it's music. Must have taken an age to get the systems back...IO was busy.:D

I just read touring plans and it said SSE decent was done? What do you guys think about that

We asked the managers. We asked the CM's. We asked guest relations. We sent a letter to Siemens and we even annoyed their PR guy.

We have been told enough times to finally accept it: Spaceship Earth is finished in its current state. There are apparently no plans to add anything to the bleak black curtain finale and nothing is just sitting there waiting to be turned on.

Its pretty sad

There is work being done. There is more.
No chance that a major hoax has been perpetrated on me, Martin and others.

Yeah I think its reality check time. Sadly. Although it did still appear little things were being worked on but as for the curtains coming down? I dont think so.

The curtains may come down, but i suspect there is NOTHING behind them... I feel like what you see is what you get with the descent, maybe a few extra triangles... But, I have little hope for much more... Even for Tomorrow's Child's grand return....
