Once again, no noticeable changes in the descent, as of yesterday. The background music in the load area is still driving me nuts, because it is so quiet I've never been able to tell if it is different from the outside queue area or not.

:dazzle:

Makes me wonder if it's more than just going to the control panel and turning up a nob.

DACS is involved somewhere, I'm sure.

I could be wrong, but I believe DACS is just the Magic Kingdom and its area. Most of the background music around EPCOT is controlled from EPCOT Computer Central, pretty much the only remaining unmolested section of CommuniCore.

It's true. And it's very cool in there.:D

When EPCOT Center first opened their computer central had a name like DACS but the first letter was different, can't remember. My dad would know, he was working there back then.

*paging Martin Smith...Your party from EPCOT has arrived*

I thought DACS was property wide with substations like the one in CCore that you mentioned. Either way...Nobs must be turned!

Oh, yes sir. The giant windows and overhead displays (including the big EPCOT Center model) are still there, and of course the rest of the computer equipment in there have been upgraded more than somewhat since its CommuniCore days.

Yup. Siemens' private lounge in SSE is also very, very cool. The floor changes color.

Oh, I haven't been in there yet. One of these days. I knew the ceiling changes colors, I didn't know about the floor. One of these days I'll get in there.

So they can spend tons of money/make a cool corporate lounge, but they wont finish the ride and instead leave it undone and looking like crap. :brick:

You rang? :D

DACS - Digital Animation Control System - was indeed part of Central at EPCOT Center - running the attraction show elements.

MACS was the Monitoring and Control System of the park, monitoring for any potential problems park wide.

ECS (pronounced X) controls the environment; exterior lighting, water features and event lighting and PA control.

I believe MACS and X are still controlled from Central; DACS was disbanded and moved to each individual attraction for local control.
