Al Lutz says Fantasyland Budget has been "Reduced"

IT WASN'T TO EXPAND THE BUDGET FOR FL.

It was (presumably) to lessen the imact to the bottom line of too much expansion at once at the property.

Those are two VERY different things. VERY different.

And who knows... Maybe TDO threatened to pull MI, and in response Burbank said "okay, okay. Keep MI because DHS needs it. We'll meet you in the middle and cut the budget for FL". Entirely possible.

Either way... You should know what you're talking about before you call someone "full of it". Especially someone like Lutz.

Last I heard it was for FL.

He is full of it' huh. Lets take a look at what he got right
'He was the first to report details about the Constance update in the HM Attic.
'He explained in detail all the changes to POTC almost a year before it happened.
'He was the first to break the story about Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island.
'He was the first to report that Disney characters would be added to It's a Small World and had the Fan Community up in arms before it was officialy announced.
'He gave numerous details about the DCA refurb before they were announced.
'He said that Green Army Men from Toy Story would be directing guests to DCA to ride Midway Mania due to confusing ads.
'And of course he was the first person who told us about the faulty Dragon in Fantasmic at Disneyland which still has yet to debut.
I would say thats a pretty decent track record.

I remember when he reported that every insider on this website said it wasn't true and some disney employees said it would never happen.

You totally aren't understanding the point.

I never once saw anyone say ANYWHERE that the MI coaster was halted so that the money could go toward EXPANDING the FL addition.

The rumor was that the MI coaster was halted so that that money could go towards paying the bill for the FL addition. NOT MAKING IT BIGGER... But to help pay for it.

Again. Very different things.

The FL budget was inevitably going to be slashed. WDI always asks for more money than it needs so they can still have a reasonable budget after all the cuts; and as long as certain egos stay out of the project, FL should still be okay. Mermaid is still coming, re-theming is still happening, and the MK is still on track to get better. Any improvement is still an improvement; no use crying over something that WDI knew would never get approved anyway.

I dont get how any of you can get so surprised. We saw the lavish Project Gemini plans and that budget was cut to nothing. To the point where all we got was:

-Soarin'
-rethemed SSE
-some money left over for Living Seas

I don't claim to be reporting inside information unlike Al. As I have said, I am not an insider nor do I have connections to any insiders. I speculate on future happenings based on past events and research. I've always made that clear.

Al on the other hand claims insider knowledge without retractions when he gets it wrong. Enderikari explained it very well in the WDW74 thread (wdw74 was also completely wrong and it was claimed to be insider information.)

After TDO had the FL expansion rammed down their throats, did anyone here actually believe they wouldn't do everything in their power to cut the budget.
