I just saw that Al Lutz has put up a blurb on the front page of Miceage tonight, and it speaks for itself; http://www.miceage.com

"Editor's Note 8/28: Captain EO has now received the green light to return to Tomorrowland, but the timing was too tight to make it by HalloweenTime. Hooter and the gang will now land at Disneyland this January to boost winter attendance, with the official announcement coming from Jay Rasulo at the D23 Expo. Murphy the Dragon will be a no show at Fantasmic this weekend, but his arrival is imminent now and you can be confident your local SoCal newspaper's website will give you several hours notice before he debuts." - Al Lutz

Poor Jay Rasulo, I wonder if he will have any surprises left to talk about at D23?

I really hope this means that we'll see Captain EO again back in FL. It would be a surefire way to bring attention back to the Imagination Pavilion...

I watched this on You Tube and I do not get the appeal.. I like Michael Jackson but this is just to weird of a show. Was the 3-D that great?

Oh my goodness! If Captain EO came back to WDW, I'd jump in the car and not stop until I reached the front gates of Epcot. Any TRUE resurrection of EPCOT Center leaves me wanting to turn cartwheels, which is really difficult at almost 6 months pregnant.

From a pure business standpoint, this is a total no brainer for Disneyland. And it would be a great decision for Epcot as well, but I doubt that they will take the time and effort to put it in. I know a lot of people will really enjoy seeing this again in Disneyland and will bring a ton of people back into the park for the first time in a while.

I think a lot of people are excited about seeing the show as a tribute to Jackson. So I guess it's a wise business move for Disney.

What I'm looking forward to is seeing the looks on people's faces as they leave the show.

Can anybody possibly say it's not the most pathetic thing Jackson's ever done? Honestly?
Let's be real. He's done some bad stuff. But EO is a complete disaster!!

Check it out on Youtube.
It's sooooooooooooooooooo Bad!

Jackson was extremely talented, and I love pretty much everything Disney.
But Captain EO degrades both.

I wish Disney had ignored the call of $$$ this time around.
Although it will be hilarious to stand outside the attraction's exit and watch the kids ask their parents "WHAT WAS THAT????":ROFLOL:

That's exactly why I can't wait t see it again! Captain EO was so cheesy, so kitschy, so 1986. I can't wait to relive how corny and bad it is! And my friends feel the same way, we are counting down the days.

But then, that's what I think Disney is counting on. I don't think anyone at WDI or TDA really thinks that Captain EO is some masterpiece of theater that stands the test of time. They are bringing it back because enough time has passed that bad pop culture of the 1980's is cool again, and plenty of folks want to relive it and have a good laugh.

But then, I also LOVED Superstar Limo. We would go have a few glasses of wine at the Mondavi Winery in 2001 and then laugh our heads off riding Superstar Limo. A truly horrible attraction that I truly loved.

Captain EO is a nostalgia attraction for me. I spent great years of my childhood enjoying that attraction and I look forward to seeing it again. I still have a stuffed animal of fuzzball. You can count on seeing me there every day in January.

Al Putz....I mean Lutz...the Jim Hill of Disneyland.

Do you have information that the statement made by Al Lutz regarding Captain EO is wrong? Is there a different timeline that you know of besides January, 2010? Or is the entire concept as outlined by Al Lutz wrong?

Or are you maybe Jay Rasulo in disguise and you are upset that Mr. Lutz just stole your big announcement you are making at the D23 Expo?

Do you have information that he's right? Just because he says it doesn't make it so.

What would be the point in returning it in January 2010 anyway? By then the sentimentality of Jackson's death will be long gone. If it was so easy to just swap out the movies...why not now?

Other then capitalizing on the sentimentality...what is the point of returning it..it's so dated by now it's ridiculous.

Every site on the interweb is quoting Lutz...the total absence of anyone else talking about it makes me suspicious.

As for the Jim Hill comment...both Lutz and Hill throw a lot of crap out there as "informed rumor"...yet a lot of it never happens. I suppose if you throw enough crap out there some of it's going to stick.

I'll believe it when I see it happen.

Front line cast members know crap....those that know don't talk...those that talk...don't know.
