I thought Phil was the most improved. I wasn't as thrilled with Jordin as the judges were and Melinda & Blake continue to be the best

Gina did well.

Sanjaya doesn't belong on this planet.

Lakisha, Phil and Melinda all sang well, but added nothing of value.

Chris S sounded and looked bored, ad no rhythm and needed to smile a bit.

Haley sang well but was dull.

Blake seemed reasonably ok, but safe.

Jordin was mimicking the original, but did that well and her vocals were spot on.

Chris R seemed comfortable but there was nothing special.

My bottom three Sanjaya, Chris S and Melinda. Going home: Probably Chris S, though it should be Sanjaya.

No-one impressed me like Gina did.

pretty much spot on with that comment!

except I don't see Melinda in the bottom.
Haley should be, she irks me, not sure why
and yes Sanjaya should have been home WEEKS ago!
ehhh... seriously if people dislike the show why do they feel the need to
ruin it for deserving GREAT singers?
I am not doing a hunger strike or anything,
but it is getting ridiculous already.

Honestly, she has a great voice, but I see no personality, no individuality [exact same paste-on smile and plastic presentation week after week] and she has deviated from the weekly themes regularly to sing songs she prefers rather than stick to the genre of the week. I think she's given far too much leeway because of her "backup singer stepping up" schtick. For me, it's beyond 'getting' old...

She has yet to do anything unique.

But then, that's just my opinion and as I've said before... I don't get to vote. :animwink:

Let's see if I can word my thoughts correctly.

Some people are already seasoned and you don't see the improvements each week, case in point Melinda. When you are the front runner early on, it hard to keep impressing people

When someone grows before you eyes, it stands out more, case in point Jordin.

So the frontrunner has a harder time staying ontime and showing improvement.

just my thoughts.

I am personally getting tired of Blake. Every week it just seems to be the same. Tonight he did a cover of a cover and the judges praised him for his originality. I don't think he or 311 did a justice to the Cure when they covered "Lovesong." I wasn't impressed with Jordin either. She just seemed bored.

Overall I was most impressed with Phil and Gina.

Oh, Belmont University did a shameless plug by using clips of alumni Melinda throughout her idol journey in order to say they are proud of and want to recognize the accomplishments of all Belmont University graduates.

Gina was the star tonight
