Adventureland Veranda - Skipper Canteen restaurant

So you enter through the veranda and then go into the porters call.
I'm curious if this will be similar to Be Our Guest. Haven't we heard it would be similar- Quick Service Lunch and Table Service dinner? The layout is certainly similar- enter in veranda and order in the porters call if quick service?

It seems like the main draw is going to be the wait staff- so I'd prefer it table service for both- but quick service would be neat as well (and more affordable).

Thanks for the link @danlb_2000

But also think about places like Brown Derby where there is a "waiting room" with the check-in desk.

we left one day open for lunch to eat here during our April trip.
I can only imagine the crazy site crashing rush when the ADRs for this open up. Hope they give us plenty of notice so I can be up before the sun again someday and beat all you other crazies out to get one.

Exactly why Disney probably won't give a date and time. I'm sure it's mostly going to be a insider thing as to when. Hopefully someone on here will give us a heads up ;-)

Photo update as of Thursday, Oct 15. The change here may not be apparent at first inspection, but the surface of the concrete blocks has been smoothed over with a textured covering.

That is called Stucco :) My neighbors husband works onsite, but she didn't say too much when I briefly spoke with her today. Only that they are supposed to be completed by November 6th and the kitchen was to be burned in shortly after so the Liberty Tree Tavern was open a few days before thanksgiving. The new restaurant would undergo props ect and open sometime in December, so I do not know the timeline of the new building.

That date matches the one I have seen, so it looks like they are on schedule.

I guess there is the potential for that.

I'm also hearing that some involved fear that the menu will scare off some of the less adventurous diners. This ain't burgers and tenders.
Exactly how adventurous is the menu? Apparently the new Pecos Bill menu is too adventurous for some, so is this WDW adventurous or Bizarre Foods adventurous?

Photo update as of Wednesday, Oct 28. With the construction scrim in place, there won't be any significant updates to observe, other than the roof line, until the scrim is removed.

It's kind of odd when you think for a second that all we've been looking at here is restrooms. Literally just a place to relieve yourself whilst eating.

would be nice if they offered it to disney card holders/DVC/annual pass holders first to make reservations. as i'm in the same boat as docdebbi. we're heading to disney world in April and I left a lunch open so really hoping it's all table service.
