I may be wrong, but wasn't there also a big fuss over taking out Food Rocks! and replacing it with Soarin'?

Do we never learn from our mistakes?
There's a big fuss over everything by a vocal minority. They will never learn, or admit they were wrong for that matter.

Oh, oh...I got it. Let's scrap the Monter's Inc. idea and go with this little guy here...

Some of you may love a ride with him. I feel you would be able to identify with his story pretty easy.

One thing I'm finding it hard to understand is that many people are gung-ho for Midway Mania to open, but are shunning the Monsters, Inc. attraction.

There have basically been two arguments, that The Laugh Floor is just a clone of Turtle Talk, and that it's theming is way off.

If you look at Midway Mania, it's basically a clone of Buzz and has theming that is intended for DCA's Paradise Pier.

What is going on with the world these days?! I think it's because TLF is taking the place of TK, which apparently a lot of people on the boards (but not in reality, clearly) loved, whereas MM is replacing WWTBAM, which seems to get a mediocre reaction at best.

Seriously.

I hope you will forgive the selective quote... but I believe when you break it down to the real issue, you will find the above to be the most accurate description of the problem.

Many do not understand that this board is not an accurate snapshot of the guests at WDW. WDWMagic (or any fan forum) does not equal reality in a business such as Disney. What forum posters want and what is good for the company is not necessarily going to mesh.

Actually, there is a lot of complaining going on there too, about another TS themed ride, another MIB type ride (although MIB is not in Disney)... I think we need to give these new rides and shows a chance before passing judgement on them.... If, after experiencing the ride, you still don't like it, then never go again....

I know there is complaining there, but what I don't understand is how some people can absolutely love one of the attractions and complain over the cocept of the other because of the two variables I listed.

I mean, it's basically the same situation with each attraction.

I find there to be considerable disdain for both attractions. TLF just gets a little more because of what it replaces.

I myself am a big fan of both concepts.

Actually, I didn't like Timekeeper... I felt it was dull, boring and a waste of space... But did I complain out it?? Nope.. I experienced it once, refused to experience it again... I think that is what we need to do... Have an open mind... and check out the attraction for ourselves... Who knows?? Maybe you will be very happy with the outcome.

2 great things about this thread:

Corrus getting all grumpy like an old man trying to send back soup at a deli

Dr. Albert Falls making a triumphant return and saving me the trouble of writing a huge response as I once again agree with him.

I personally could care about the Tomorrowland aspect and don't mind movie tie in here at all. A good attraction is a good attraction. Stich, Buzz & Monsters have "enough" of a science fiction feel that it works for me, without seeming out of place.

As much as a prefer a "dark ride" over a show, this new atttraction sounds really good. I do hope they have alot of physical props/theming in the theatre that the animated characters "interact" with. Maybe Mike kicks a REAL door and it opens and a LIVE costumed character (ala Muppetvision).
This would give the show a "realness" and it wouldn't be you just sitting there looking at a "screen".

I know Turle Talk is a small installation and good for what it is, but there's nothing but a screen to look at. Hopefully Laugh Floor will implement alot more ideas. AA, live people, physical props, etc.

Well, I never got to experience it because it was never open...which is wierd considering that it is the greatest attraction in all of WDW:hammer:

Some people may get a few laughs out of locked up attraction...but me, I'd rather sit in a new attraction and give it a go.

You didn't miss anything.. Ever see the movie Robots with Robin Williams providing the voice for the red robot? Well, think about how annoying his character was in that movie, multiply it 1000 times.. That was Timekeeper.... And funny.... people want a dark ride.. if Disney decided to do a dark ride for Monsters inc instead of the show, the same people here mouthing off about the show before it even opens, would be mouthing off about the dark ride being a clone from DCA.

Wow, I don't think I could disagree any more

I haven't checked out Turtle Talk With Crush yet due to a lack of interest, but a clone of that would be better than bumper cars or some other kiddie attraction. At least it seems many people enjoy Turtle Talk and hopefully The Laugh Floor will achieve similar results.
