Well, so have I.
Care for an Improv-off?
I've played my Woosh and have a buzzer. :drevil:

Woosh? I don't know that one.

However, I'll make strips of paper with random sayings on them to put in our pockets. That's my favorite game.

It sounds like the attraction is building off of the Turtle Talk model. Good. It's excellent new technology, and it would be a shame to use it only once.

It also is clearly another attraction based on a Pixar film. Good. Practically every Pixar film is four-star, and it would be foolish not to take advantage of the quality characters from them.

It is also known that there will be an improv element to the show. Good. Improv and audience interaction, while hit or miss on the entertainment side, is always exciting. Good improv actors will have a bunch of pre-written quips to be used in certain, predictable situations. I'm sure that will be the case here.

I'll be very interested in seeing this attraction. I wish it were replacing CoP instead of Timekeeper, but that's a minor complaint.

Excellent point.
One which PIXAR-phobes seem to overlook.
PIXAR has done much better than WDFA or WDI, for that matter.

I highly agree.

Ah, you get it! Not only is Pixar good, IT IS DISNEY!!!

I'm also thinking this will be more of an adult-friendly attraction, something the Magic Kingdom is lacking.

You would rather replace an attraction that is still in operation than a dead attraction that collected dust?

I don't do Drama Class.

Mine wasn't either, actually. All my improv stuff has been NOT drama class. In fact, in drama, we avoided it.

In professional improv, from what I understand, they say which "games" will be used, and that's about it.

Improv isn't improv if it's rehearsed. You can't fake improv, even if you're the greatest actor in the world.

Exactly.
Take out that element, and it's nothing but a mildly entertained skit.
Now... I'm really itching to get back to the old troupe...:lookaroun

Actually, they made us do an improvization type of a thing in my drama class. We had to make up our own character, and respond the way they would respond as the way our character would respond. Gosh, was it humiliating. It was worse when we had to interact with someone else.

Well, essentially, that IS improv.

It wouldn't be improv if you had rehearsed it before hand.

This "attraction" and I use that word loosely, sounds like the most unfunny thing possible. Lame, lame, laaaaaaaaaaame!

In the Parks
No
Hey Corrus, I understood what you meant by pixar overload in all the parks...
When will it end..? Probably when Pixar stops making money.

If, that is what you meant :lookaroun

I'm looking forward to experiencing it. Sadly, alot of new additions sometimes mean we lose older ones. However, I will reserve any judgement until I have seen it for myself.

Again, the negative arguments leave me dumbfounded.

Sure, I like orginal theme park characters. But, for Disney to turn its back on some of the most popular and profitable characters in the DISNEY canon (notice, Pixar and Disney are one and the same) would just be stupid. It should be a fun and hilarious way to spend a half-hour.

And, the other criticisms I'm reading leave me confused.

Billy Crystal isn't funny! -- He's one of the most popular stand-up comedians in America.

Improv. is all prerehearsed! -- Yeah, sure. I find it oddly humorous that people would rather have a stagnant show than an animated attraction that always presents a slightly different experience.

I hate pixar! -- Why? As much as it may pain the Disney elite, Pixar has crated the best animated films of the past ten years. In fact, it seems that they have realized what makes animation WORK in the first place. Not annoying characters (Stitch). Not stupid retreads of existing legends (Atlantis, Treasure Planet). But, instead, innovation, imagination, beautiful aesthetics, and strong messages and heart. I consider Toy Story to more Disney (in both tone and spirit) than "Over the Range" or "Chicken Little."

-I miss timekeeper! -- Yeah, well I miss Horizons. Get over it.

-It doesn't fit in Tomorrowland! -- Ever since the '95 revision, Tomorrowland is less about the future, and more about a quirky Buck-rogers-esque vision of what people in the fifties thought the future would be. That includes science fiction movies and B-monster flicks that included a lot of--believe it or not--MONSTERS! Sure, the connection isn't rock solid. But, it works for me. Especially, considering that the Indy Speedway still manages to stick around.

--It's the same as Turtle Talk! Yeah, well Muppets is the same as Philharmagic. Star Tours and Body Wars are the same. Reusing great technology is not wrong. It's smart.

*sigh* I'm done.

:sohappy: :sohappy: WELL SAID!!

I think it will be nice to have something new--NOT Stitch. I personally love Turtle Talk since it is different every time and make a point to see it every trip. I think this will be a lot of fun, too--minus all the "dude" talk:lol: :lookaroun

UN-EDIT:

I may be wrong, but wasn't there also a big fuss over taking out Food Rocks! and replacing it with Soarin'?

Do we never learn from our mistakes?
