Actual quote from Guest...

Magic Kingdom 2006, we were watching Wishes and it was our first time. Now I notice Wishes is a little stop-start with the fireworks. Just after one of the pauses between fireworks. This guy walks past us towards the exit exclaiming in an annoyed, British Northern tone

"It's all much of a muchness!"

We call had a good chuckle about that and have it caught on video for prosperity

Also I have been known for a few goofs. On the same trip - "We're in Norway...where are we?" (I'm sure I said "Where are we in Norway" but family claims the former)

Also first trip in 98 I was 10 and my dad recorded video diaries of me and my brother discussing the trip. We were in Universal and Islands of Adventure wasnt open yet, there was the preview pavillion and the Kongfrontation at the time. Which my mom and my uncle were riding. What did I say.

"Is-lands of adventure opening 1999!"

"Mom and Uncle David are busy in Kongfunction"

Oh and another jem from the video diaries;

Dad: So what characters have you seen so far?

Me: Minnie, Mickey *brother chips in with me* chip an dale...

Rich: *matter of fact tone* and all them sorts of things

i dont understand the big deal, i've seen people on here say they were characters before

exactly

helloooo my avatar gives THAT one away =):D

It's just that some people don't like the magic revealed directly, either to make it easier for them to keep up the fantasy, or in case kids see the post. They prefer for you to say that you "knew [character name] extremely well", or something similar. Go figure.

Oh i understand. It does ruin the magic and you are right.
I don't mean to cause a problem. I thought the majority on here are veterans you know?

One time I was in the MK tunnel and playing around. I put on tigger feet, I had my eeyore body and I put on my Piglet's head. A destroy the magic tour came by and a lady fainted when she saw me...

People ruin their own magic at WDW...I had people feel me up as a character and in front of other kids this brat shouted out "it is a girl!" like ....YOU AS____ HOLE

I don't necessarily see a problem with venting about our "unique" guests, so long as it is not done onstage, not done with sufficient identifying information about the guest, and kept in good taste.

I think everywhere you have employed people you have jokes made about the clientele. I work at a doctor's office and boy, do we rip on the patients at lunch and after hours. It's the only way to stay sane, aside from the drinking after work....

A former CM and now co-worker of mine was at a restaurant this weekend, The waitress was talking to an older couple about their recent Disney trip when the women exclaimed " yeah it's nice, but I wish they would put Eisner back in charge"

My buddy just shook his head.:hammer:

One time when I was at MK, some people were walking into Frontierland, saw Splash Mountain, pointed at it, and said,"Hey let's go ride that giant hill thing."

I know. I hate when guests do that to the characters too.

I love this thread! I want to be a CM someday and I love hearing the behind the scenes stuff! I'm going back to the World in May and I will be listening for some silly comments! This thread makes my day!

I think the poster meant the tours that go backstage (Keys to the Kingdom, or Backstage Magic).

My GF reminded me of this one... we went to see Fantasmic one night and it was packed. We found some empty spaces on the far left side of the theater and took a seat. The people in front of us were standing up talking to a friend on a cellphone and said (very seriously) "you can't miss us, we're the ones standing up". We looked around and saw just about everybody was standing up and they'd already started doing the "wave". :ROFLOL:

Let's get one thing straight, this thread is not associated in any way shape or form with Walt Disney World, and therefore we are not doing this while on the clock, onstage, or on Disney Property. The whole point of this thread is most likely to vent the frustration we CM's have when people ask us the same questions HUNDREDS of times a day, or ask clearly stupid questions. Why would an attraction called Living With The Land Boat Ride, where the sign is clearly in front of you, not be a ride? Guests are on vacation and have checked out mentally, I understand that, I was a guest before I was a CM, but does that mean we can't laugh about it? Why argue with us over where the monorail goes to when we are paid to know? Why berate us for not allowing your stroller inside in accordance to Reedy Creek Fire Codes? Until you know what it is like to be sworn at, called terrible names, and verbally abused during a 16 hour day when it is almost 100 degrees outside for less then what most other employers pay you can't really talk. We vent our frustration for a few laughs and then remember why we do it, to create magic for those who seek it. I think as long as we keep our opinions "off-stage" it is fine, it is never acceptable to make fun of a guest onstage, I will agree to that. But we CM's who go above and beyond despite the way some treat us are allowed to be human and be hurt or annoyed by what guests say to us. Do you understand where I am coming from?

as I said before Cm's calling guest stupid and other names and making fun of them. Yeah wow thats magical. The responce I got from Disney parks agree me with. so far I'm happy with that. to all the Cm's keep the comments coming.

It's a message board. Like I said before, just because someone says something on a message board does not mean they act this way in real life. People are allowed to express themselves (and vent) online.

Ill say it again it still reflects poorly on the CM's as a whole and it reflects poorly on the park. I don't care where you are saying it here or there. How you all talk in here you would think you CM's would take some pride in your job and not dirty it by talkin crap on a message board about the guets that pay you. cause without the "stupid" guests your nothing but a troll in a stuffed suite. might as well be dressed as a hot dog outside a ball game
