A Wakanda Attraction? Whoopi says yes

I'd tolerate Big Hero 6 in Japan even though San Fransokyo is a fictional mixture of two cultures. But whatever. That dang impressive Japanese fortress needs SOME grand attraction in it!

I'm also hoping that the Italy pavilion gets some Luca related attraction. Maybe within 10 - 15 years time it will happen.
I'd like all of the pavilions to have an attraction, not just a movie or restaurant.

If Disney could do a Black Panther attraction. Some of the technology has been already used, like the "Hologram of Rey" or a kinda coaster / Journey to Imagination ride base. Even the original Journey projection system and the one for Horizons. I think a hybrid of the proposed Mt Fuji attractions could work.

Well, they could just put a new enclosed coaster attraction behind it... it's been done before...

after they built Via Napoli back there, its shot for an attraction went away for good. Not that there isnt a little room left back there but that restaurant would have to go, and thats not happening.

The UN speech at the end of Black Panther is very befitting to EPCOT but I am still of the mindset that attractions rooted in IP fantasy don't really belong in EPCOT. Having said that, if you were to put a Wakanda attraction in EPCOT it should be a technology display in Future World.

I think we should have a Technology Pavilion

Is it too late to scrap PLAY! and make it a Technology Pavilion with host nation Wakanda?

There's a story treatment with Wakanda and Black Panther that could work in DAK, but it's probably the worst fit of the 4 parks.

I could see them sticking it in AK because once GotG and TRON open, it will be the park that has gone the longest without a new ride and they may want something besides Pandora to promote it.

Yes I know the park has other, better ideas for new attractions, but I could see Disney forcing Wakanda into it.

Honestly, I would rather it be in Future World. I also think that EPCOT will still be in need of attractions even after Guardians and Ratatouille open.

Future world isn’t a bad idea, but equatorial Africa is better suited and in more need.
No. World Showcase needs to remain based on the idealized version of the real world with real world countries being represented. Future World has had an element of realistic fantasy since the beginning. Wakanda may be a step beyond "realistic fantasy" but it's still better suited for Future World.

Wakanda would not represent equatorial Africa. It's a fictional country with sci-fi technology.

I already said it above, but I think it would lead to absolutely terrible PR for Disney. Instead of adding a real country in Africa you're putting in something completely fake that you own and leaving actual sub-Saharan Africa without representation?

I love Black Panther, but Wakanda is a fictional place. It doesn’t belong in World Showcase or in DAK. IMHO, placing a Wakanda attraction in either of those locations would not only be thematically inappropriate but rude towards the real Africa.

Now, an attraction hosted by Shuri looking at futuristic technology to inspire and play with? That would be something exciting for Future World.

I regret that somehow someone did their measurements incorrectly and therefore we never got Meet the World here. It would have been a neat attraction and another catchy song added to EPCOT Center’s already long list.
