A time when CMs cry

Me too

Does anyone have any Kleenex? These are great stories!

And Dizpins, you mentioned that you are a guy, 20 years old, so you don't cry. It's OK. I'm a guy, let's just say more than twice your age, and a old softie at heart. I can mist up with the best of them--like everytime we leave the MK for the trip home.

Oh, don't get me started........

35 and not afraid to sob with the best of them. Learned in the Navy: when you are leaving your family for six months with no guarantee of coming back it comes easily.

Now I tear up at the Folgers commercials.

I love reading these. I can't tell the CM's enough how much I appreciate the special things that you do for us. I had a few do some extra things that just blew me away.

I took my kids to Six Flags and we never saw an employee there smile. I was watching to see how they were different and the difference was amazing. Disney CM's are in a league of their own, and it truly is Magical.

Couldn't agree more!!:)

To make a long story short, I have always wanted to work at Walt Disney World, but living in Canada I knew it would be a long shot. On my holidays there though if I saw a situation where I could help Id try cause thats probably the closest I would ever get to working there, anywho...

last year and me and some buddies went to WDW to escape the winter and were staying at Pop Century, we got there pretty late the first night, it was probably around midnight, we decided to walk around the resort becasue they had never been there before, and we walk by this lady trying to carry her luggage push a stroller and find her room on the map. Im not sure why she hadnt asked for help in the lobby? Anyways she did not look like she was making out to well, so my friend and I walk up and ask if we could help her, and she said that would be great, we carried her luggage and found her building with her (it was the laptop one) She thanked out so much and said we made a great start for her trip.

This past january I was at the World to run in the half marathon. One night my family and I were on main street one night watching Wishes. During the midlle of the show it started to pur with no warning! With in 5 seconds the whole street was empty as people ran under the awnings of the shops. The street was clear except for this older lady in a wheelchair. She sat there holding on to one of those light up roses, and watched the fireworks with what I assume was her daughter, as if were a perfectly clear night. When I saw this i went into the confectionary and asked for the biggest shopping bag they had. I took it, ripped it at the sides, made a make shift pancho and brought it out to the lady. I gave it to the daughter and said over the noise of the rain and music that it was the closest I could find to an umbrealla, she took it, shielded her mother from the rain, and they stood there alone in the middle of the street for the rest of the show.

After that trip I was invited to a Disney Interview in Tronto that I applied for almost a year before and have given up hope on, and to make this story short, I start at Epcot in June!

To PlutoInAtlanta,

That was an amazing story that has me in tears too. My son has one of those hats and I will always think of your story when I see it from now on. Thank you for sharing with us.

I was doing some research on Walt Disney for my little boy and I read where he wanted the people who worked for him to "push it or top it" I don't remember, but what he wanted was for his employees to do a great job and then do it better. Walt would be very proud of you for what you did that day. You did a great job and then did it better.:animwink:

It was just the "right" thing to do as far as I was concerned. I wouldn't of had it any other way. I'm just soooooooooooo thankful that I got to see the family again that night. That's what truely made that whole story perfect for me.

And THANK YOU! I've been going to Disneyland and Disney World since I was 6 months old - so yeah - I'm a bit of a Disney Freak. :hammer:Working for Disney was some of the most wonderful times I've had. I still use alot of what I learned at Disney today, I still can't do a one finger point - Always two...no matter what I do...

A scene in Animal Kingdom really got to me once...We were watching "Festival of the Lion King" and during the part where the dancers chose children from the audience, I noticed a performer spot a little girl who was in a wheel chair in the front row. He motioned to a few other performers and they went up to her and started dancing. They didn't make that big a deal about it, they just went smiling and dancing around her, including her in the fun. Needless to say the little girl's face lit up as did her family's. All of them, including the performers looks so unbelievably happy.
It was so amazing how the Cast Members just knew how to quietly make such a magical memory for someone that was completely unscripted.
I started crying throughout the whole end of the show (I'm crying now thinking about it actually )...for me, it was exactly what Disney is all about.

Ok thought of another one. So Mickey and Pluto and a few others were hanging out and had a little boy come visit them. On the right side of the boy's head towards his forehead, he had this huge dent (that sounds so insensitive, but that's the best way I can think of to describe it), and he was in a wheelchair. The mom helped him out of the wheelchair, and he could walk, but he was very unbalanced and it was fairly difficult. And as he gets out and sees mickey, he yells "Mickey!" It was fairly slurred, but you could definitely tell that's what he said, and then he started taking steps towards Mickey. I happen to glance up, and I see the mom just loses it, like absolutely breaks down and starts bawling..... and then she says very quietly, "that's the first word he's said in 8 months..." Later, we gathered that he was in some kind of accident 8 months before that had left him with some major brain trauma. Needless to say, there was quite a bit of flooding in that room!!!!!

disneybelle- that reminded me of this video from youtube. It is one of my absolute favorite videos on there-

That is my goal, to volunteer at GKTW this summer.
It is an AMAZING opportunity, definitely don't let the chance pass you by. I volunteer here at home for Make A Wish and since I got to go to GKTW while I was out there, I really really urge all of my wish families to stay there, it is amazing.

:cry: You will be a PERFECT castmember. You were making Disney magic before you were even hired.

I don't have any REAL good stories but when I was on my CP in 2003-2004 I worked at La Nouba, I bawled like a baby every time someone got proposed to and I probably saw about 6 proposals. I've always wanted to get proposed to/married at Disney - any takers?
