A Terror-rific Spirited 13th (ToT fans have lots to fear)...

I just didn't want the person I quoted to feel bad for hoping it won't happen.
Thanks - sounds like you're a nice person. I was being a little facetious but I meant it. No, I wouldn't feel bad....ultimately I want TWDC to be successful because I do want impressive theme park projects, but I'm willing to trade a 'smidge' of decline if it means projects I don't like/want (in the way they are doing it) are stalled or axed.

Regular consumers are noticing too, not just us dorks. They're noticing that Disney's prices are increasingly out of their reach, that the heavily-advertised SW presence at DHS is a joke, and that they just paid $100 a pop to walk around a construction site.

If they're noticing, they're certainly not showing it with their wallets yet.

I'm using "consumers" in its most general sense. Not specifically us here on the board. One just has to look at the announcement videos of the DCA makeover to see that we (as posters here) are not alone in the anti-GotG overlay. But it extends beyond just ToT and into ANY decision corporate makes. They don't give two rips one way or the other what the general perception is to their changes. They just make them because they feel it will boost their revenues.
Well, the DCA fiasco was because DLR has a lot more locals and AP holders that go up in arms over even the smallest change, sometimes regardless of merit. In this case, it didn't do any good at all. In other cases, it has changed their minds.

Nobody spends $100 a pop to walk around HS. Get real. MK, yes, because anyone with only one day will 90% of the time choose MK. The other 10% are over at EPCOT drinking.

Attendance has been soft since 2Q (doesn't necessarily mean revenue will be down of course). I'm waiting to see what or how that will show up in P&R given the issues over the summer. There's been so much speculation, I would like to know what the facts are (to the extent possible).

So which part of what I said was wrong, the $102 +tax admission price or the fact that a significant portion of the park is currently bulldozed?

The first quarter TWDC reports lower profit/earnings than the previous one, the projects at DHS will get shut down so fast your head will spin. It's how business is done in America these days.
And as these projects get shut down, DHS and Disney World in general will get even lower profit/earnings. Walt Disney taught us that you can't make any money without taking risks. If you could even consider SWL a risk.

That anybody PAYS that price to go there is wrong. And since you brought it up. Only 2 real attractions are gone. Backlot Tour should've been shut down years ago anyway. The others:

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure
Studio Catering Co.
Meet & Greet: Mike and Sulley at Streets of America
Magic of Disney Animation
The Writer's Stop

A M&G, small store, and a lousy QS are no big losses. And the HISTKMSA wasn't a big loss to the majority either.

Oh c',mon. They really only shut down 2 attractions - Backlot Tour and LMA. And Backlot Tour should've been shut down years ago anyway, so no loss there.
Exactly my point on why losing these attractions is not a bad thing. But when DHS has so little rides to begin with, shutting down 2 attractions, and at least a third of the park's land, if not more, is a huge problem.

You had said it isn't a full day park, but the thing is, it hasn't been for years and years. Should it have been added to a long time ago? Absolutely. And I hope that @marni1971's source on the TSL let down, will come back with better news in the future.

I agree it hasn't been a full park for a long time, perhaps maybe in its entire existence. But there used to be a lot more to do there just a couple of years ago. Also, inform me on the "TSL let down". Either I'm not understanding you, or I didn't read something.:D

I'm not going to blindly say Disney has never changed their minds. Most recently, they pulled the "Maui" Halloween costume out of fear of cultural backlash (Aladdin song lyrics were changed for that same reason). But I am genuinely curious to know when they have changed their mind on parks-related issues simply because people vocally expressed their frustration.

He has reported that the TSL expansion has been severely budget cut, with significant changes to the area - especially the coaster. Very disappointing to hear that, as the original art work looked really good. I am hoping that things change in the future, or more is added.

The one that comes to mind is Mr Toads Wild Ride.

if they cut down the plan for the coaster, then the already completely lame Toy Story Land retread is even more pathetic as that was really the only thing it had going for it... At this point I think they should just can the whole idea and come up with a better plan.
