It was replaced in MK with the Pooh ride, and then talked about for DL. The locals took up pitchforks and knives, and Disney changed it's mind. That is the story I heard, anyway. Can you elaborate?

I agree completely.if they cut down the plan for the coaster, then the already completely lame Toy Story Land retread is even more pathetic as that was really the only thing it had going for it... At this point I think they should just can the whole idea and come up with a better plan.
Interesting. So a bad decision at one park was vetoed at the next? Seems like we're in a similar situation here then.It was replaced in MK with the Pooh ride, and then talked about for DL. The locals took up pitchforks and knives, and Disney changed it's mind. That is the story I heard, anyway.
Well, we were until Spirit started this thread, and stated that it's happening at HS anyway, though others have still heard different stories.Interesting. So a bad decision at one park was vetoed at the next? Seems like we're in a similar situation here then.
Getting rid of Mr. Toad at MK was an improvement.Interesting. So a bad decision at one park was vetoed at the next? Seems like we're in a similar situation here then.
Pretty sure it's the future. Please tell me you're not so thick as to believe Google Earth is today?
I cannot argue with that.Getting rid of Mr. Toad at MK was an improvement.
Yikes. I'm seeing lots of pitchforks in your future. You, too @LuvtheGoofGetting rid of Mr. Toad at MK was an improvement.

Attendance has been soft since 2Q (doesn't necessarily mean revenue will be down of course). I'm waiting to see what or how that will show up in P&R given the issues over the summer. There's been so much speculation, I would like to know what the facts are (to the extent possible).
So which part of what I said was wrong, the $102 +tax admission price or the fact that a significant portion of the park is currently bulldozed?
So, based on this logic, after being sold or spun off, they will the be surpassed by Uni in, say, 7 years? I want to make sure I carried the square root correctly. . .You seem to suffer a comprehension problem, I DO expect TWDC to blow up in 2-3 years,
I ALSO expect that the Studios, Consumer Products and Parks and Resorts will be sold to new owners as going businesses, (as to Media Networks that will be the cause of the blowup and I expect it will be sold off piecemeal).
As such that means no more Disney Corporate but I DO expect that WDW will be around for decades still, But WDW middle management needs to change their attitude that 'we are number one and nothing can touch us' or UNI will indeed surpass WDW in a decade or so.
Well, I personally don't really care for either of those rides. Didn't care for SWSA, so no loss for us when turned into a M&G - which we don't go to either. Everyone has their favorite rides and rides they couldn't care less about. Fortunately, there are enough of both of them to satisfy anyone that goes there!Maybe it's cuz I'm a bit younger (early 20s), but I've really loved the Winnie the pooh ride at wdw since it opened. And when i got to visit Disneyland and ride mr toads for the first time a few years ago, I didn't see what all the fuss was about. It's a neat enough dark ride, but I think Pooh is better. Toad just didn't seem like this incredible classic Disney ride that iit would be tragedy to lose. What am I missing here that makes replacing it with Winnie the pooh such a mistake?
Can't fix stupid.I believe there are people (other posters have mentioned running into them at the parks) who, despite being there for a multiday Disney vacation, actually buy 1 day tickets every day...
The Unofficial Guide (either this year or last, or both) has said that DHS isn't worth it even at a prorated rate on a shorter multiday ticket.
I'm not going to blindly say Disney has never changed their minds. Most recently, they pulled the "Maui" Halloween costume out of fear of cultural backlash (Aladdin song lyrics were changed for that same reason). But I am genuinely curious to know when they have changed their mind on parks-related issues simply because people vocally expressed their frustration.
During our week long visit, there was not one park restroom I went into that didn't have a CM cleaning up in it. Not one. They were all spotless. I really believe that they are trying a lot harder nowadays, even over a few years ago. Guest complaints can go a long way. This is just my personal experience, but I found a degree of improvement in park cleanliness between last year and this year. Specifically, fluids were often removed from the floors of high use bathrooms (as opposed to, not at all) and I saw custodial actually do it twice. At a point between that last trip and this one, members here were posting pictures of overflowing trashcans along with lots of talk about the lack of cleanliness...
Even though it still wasn't up to what it should be based on both the parks Heritage as well as it's Price Point, an improvement to the parks were made, and it may very well have been due to guest complaints...
whats the second one - idol? That anybody PAYS that price to go there is wrong. And since you brought it up. Only 2 real attractions are gone. Backlot Tour should've been shut down years ago anyway. The others:
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure
Studio Catering Co.
Meet & Greet: Mike and Sulley at Streets of America
Magic of Disney Animation
The Writer's Stop
A M&G, small store, and a lousy QS are no big losses. And the HISTKMSA wasn't a big loss to the majority either.
Winnie the Pooh is a very good ride I think. I can't say too much about the quality of WDW Mr. Toad's Wild Ride since my memory is a bit fuzzy, but it was considered a classic ride partly because it was based on The Wind and the Willows. And it set the precedent for removing 'beloved' rides at MK. Maybe check out @marni1971's video for it, I'm sure it explains better than what I could.Maybe it's cuz I'm a bit younger (early 20s), but I've really loved the Winnie the pooh ride at wdw since it opened. LMAwhats the second one - idol?
Shows how much I cared. I would agree, nothing of consequence has been lost, and Launch Bay replaced animation, Id say thats a "push"
