If they aren't building SWL at DHS, then what the heck did they clear ALL that land for? And start putting stuff in the ground?

There is no question that WDI want(s) to build SWL in DHS (And that we as fans WANT it built yes even me), The question is with ESPN losing hundreds of thousands of subscribers monthly whether Wall St will ALLOW Disney to build it,

Because let's face it Wall St would rather that 3.5 Billion budget for SWL be directed to Wall St instead of theme park construction.

Look at what happened to Facebook they made some huge capital expenditures to support their future growth and Wall St reacted by dumping their stock en masse, Facebook was a Wall St darling when it simply passed money from it's customers straight through to Wall St, It's now a goat because they dared to build datacenters and other necessary to operations facilities. Once again demonstrating that today's Wall St more closely resembles a casino than promoting capital formation.

I know they are teaching the new math in those new fangled education buildings, but I thought you were predicting. Disney to pack up and cease to exist anywhere from tomorrow to 2 years, or was it 3? Now we have a decade?

You seem to suffer a comprehension problem, I DO expect TWDC to blow up in 2-3 years,

I ALSO expect that the Studios, Consumer Products and Parks and Resorts will be sold to new owners as going businesses, (as to Media Networks that will be the cause of the blowup and I expect it will be sold off piecemeal).

As such that means no more Disney Corporate but I DO expect that WDW will be around for decades still, But WDW middle management needs to change their attitude that 'we are number one and nothing can touch us' or UNI will indeed surpass WDW in a decade or so.

I think Disney becoming less an appendix to ESPN increases the likelihood of SWL happening.

I'd also sooner expect Kermit to be revealed as Yoda's incarnation than for SWL not to be build.

I just can't see how the expectations for SWL would change overnight. SW is the biggest IP out there, SWL will be an ATM. Maybe if Rogue One flops - which I do expect to show the limits of the SW franchise, which is nowhere near as infinite as some at TWDC might hope. (Then again, they might neither hope nor think that SW demand is infinite, and content themselves with slash-and-burning their IP's, their careers being of a different timescale than the company's)

They've also literally started foundations that match the foundations for SWE in Disneyland. This is being built and will probably be vertical in the next six months if not much sooner.

Disney started the AoA resorts as 'Pop Century Legendary Years' and mothballed them for a DECADE when Wall St objected to their construction post 9/11. And the ESPN bleeding more than 1/2 million subs per month just started recently.

With due respect I believe you are wrong. DHS has done way too much land clearage FOR SWE to not build it, not to mention it has already been publically announced. I get you are a show me, not tell me person. But as someone else has posted, you don't clear all that space for fun. Wall street won't dictate what gets built, they will dictate how successful the build was.
I don't get it, why are people so against SWL in DHS? It's replacing nothing noteworthy, in a park lacking decent attractions no less. Even if it ends up being a disappointment, it'll still be an improvement.

What I am expecting is Wall St putting their foot down and forcing Disney to suspend SWL East construction until Wall St sees how successful SWL West is. I don't think Wall St objects to SWL but they do object to the simultaneous build in the money men's mind building only one halves the financial risk and puts more money in their pockets NOW.

Why do you make stuff up? Do really think nobody knows otherwise?

Why would Wall St object to SWL being built in the most popular Disney resort, in a park that is literally half closed until the land is finished? If Disney delays this, they'll be eaten alive. If by 2021, Universal has some of the Nintendo expansion done, and Disney doesn't have SWL finished, Disney won't stand a chance.

I don't think anyone is against SWL in either site. The one poster feels Disney will be forced to delay due to Wall street pressure. I don't, if that were the case, the pressure would already be applied as they are doing both DL and WDW versions of SWL as we speak.

I do think if they half way do SWL, and it is not as immersive as resrted to be

ONly one poster is saying it will be held up, and I don't think he is against it. He just feels wall street is going to push delay. I doubt that happens, as both are already in build mode, and if there were to be pressure, it would already be happening to force delays.

@ford91exploder I don't see the ESPN issues forcing anything. It is not the main driver of its business, movies and the parks are.

IF Shanghai and other parks have more issues, that would be my only concern for cuts or delays.

I dunno, man. The Disney-faithful are pretty darned addicted. Even with Nintendo built I can totally see USF still failing to beat DHS in attendance. People just gotta have their Midway Mania and Frozen show. If Universal couldn't beat a half-demolished park with Diagon Alley, can they ever?

... Not that this is even a realistic question. Star wars land IS getting built. Both of them.
