You know that dumb next-gen bus they showed at Destination D that was just loud noises and ads?

Well here's something that outclasses that in every way and would actually be a magical experience.

THIS is the kind of thing EPCOT used to be about

That's incredible. I would love to see this used in theme park transportation. Monorail anyone?

I've been saying for ages that when Universal does it's third gate on the Lockheed site, it won't mess around trying to build expensive monorails or trams, but will just run themed buses between the parks with Hogwarts Express type windows.

This seems to fit the bill pretty well.. If you want to sit and watch the traffic along Universal Blvd that'll be an option, but every seat will have a headset, so you can pop it on and 'ride the movies' to the other park if you want. Heck you might yourself enjoying it so much you'll wish the third gate was as far away from the others as MK is from DAK.

The other studios besides WB had a weak year with nothing major so it makes some sense for how well Disney has done this year. I think we will see a flip with another studio taking the lead next year followed back to Disney the following year with the patterning continuing.

I think Disney led with product... not simply lead in an absence of other competition

It was stated on here that other Disney films pretty much took Good Dinosaurs advertising budget (can't remember which ones were out around same time). Anyway it was a good film....and 77% on Rotten Tomatoes might not be Pixars greatest, but it's far from a misfire.

but a pixar film should only have to say 'pixar'... and they will come. Shouldn't need a hundred million in advertising when you are Pixar.

Except this doesn't use headsets.

That's dependent on what is more important to you, Money or Legacy. Eisner excelled at making the company known for its accolades in addition to providing tons of revenue in both live action and animation through the use of its multiple divisions. They moved away from that and have been settling for two awards such as animation and song when back in the day, they were getting best picture nominations for their animated films which is a even larger accomplishment. Also, under the Iger era have many of the films are instant original classics? Besides Frozen and maybe Zootopia, there isn't much that is Disney based nor has Pixar lately, Marvel and Star Wars sure but that's thinking that the superhero films will surpass the test of time which as history shows, superhero films really rarely do.
I'll take Tangled, WiR, Frozen, BH6, Zootopia and Moana over Eisner's 'legacy first' Cinderella III and Aladdin: Return of Jafar. I can barely think of one live action movie of his era I'd want to see. Splash was overrated, Honey I Shrunk the Kids and its endless sequels and spin-offs is what the zero street credibility of old Disney is made of.

Iger has got Eisner beat at the box office, in critical acclaim, and in quality of product. Eisner had a good streak for five years, but all of his two decades don't even match up to what Iger has achieved in one.

Oh come on now. If you weren't even slightly moved emotionally by coach Gordon Bombay quacking in a locker room, then I don't know what you're made of.
What about coach Herb Brooks' locker room speech?
Oh I thought it was VR. I'll have to watch the video again. I suspect a real life solution for park transportation would need headsets though for safety purposes, some people won't like driving on the highways unable to see outside.
I'd love to see something like that outside a bus window over highways and junk. I'm sure Universal would like it too as to have their own little "bubble" for people to stay in even when taking a bus from the current property to where the third park will be.

It's really not hard to understand. Carts and walk around cast sell items that have sales tax included so that they end up as even dollar amounts. This was the cast and guests don't have to deal with change.

I understand that. But why list an item as $15.02 (plus tax) at Location A but $16 (tax included) at Location B? The price the customer pays is the same. Maybe I'm completely off-base and that doesn't happen, but I'm guessing that it does, not necessarily on a slew of items but on at least some.

Any sort of VR or fixed screen-lookout on a bus is a recipe for motion sickness. It's fine on rails, but the Hogwarts Express solution basically ensures you'd have a vomiter per trip.
The coaster systems do account for the slight variations in movement, but that is still along a predetermined path.

Go look at the list of Touchstone movies - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Touchstone_Pictures_films. It's pretty impressive overall. I have utterly zero love for any of the Eisner-era sequels and other such crap, but Touchstone released more than a few good movies in the Eisner era.

The VR windows on that bus in the video seemed to be in perfect sync with all of the movements of the bus even when it turned.

I down with using this type of tech for some sort of attraction. Like in Epcot.

But for normal Disney transportation buses, I am of the opinion the scenery of the Walt
Disney world resort should be beautiful enough to not have have the need for this.

In a previous post I talked about Universal using it when bussing people from the current property to where the third park will be. Not Disney using it. It would be a pretty cool way of creating their own "bubble" like WDW without needing all that land.
