A Terror-rific Spirited 13th (ToT fans have lots to fear)...

I think so too. The whole CGI to de-age or age an actor seems to be a mixed bag, looking at the examples we have. For example, I think that the CGI used to make Peggy Carter elderly in Captain America 2 works, but a girl I went to college with thought it was horrendous. Recently, in Westworld, Anthony Hopkins had a couple scenes where they used CGI to make him younger... In one scene it worked, but in another, it wasn't so pretty. I get why they did it in the case of
Tarkin
, but they could have hired the actor who portrayed him briefly in Episode III, like they did with Mon Mothma. I'll feel a lot more comfortable judging that when I actually get to see the movie (2 days!!!!!!!)

Like you said, minor quibbles :)
Well, they did this effect already many times.. see Tron. And It wasnt that bad in the case of Tron.

Oh, don't get me wrong, Cars 2 was awful. I remember when it got nominated for a GG, I was pretty surprised. The Academy Awards, however, didn't nominate it.
Also, Disney didn't win an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature until Frozen. The category has been mostly dominated by Pixar (which is now owned by Disney, but minor details).
  • 2001- Shrek (Dreamworks)
  • 2002- Spirited Away (Studio Ghibli, Disney only provided the English adaptation and barely promoted the movie)
  • 2003- Finding Nemo (Pixar)
  • 2004- The Incredibles (Pixar)
  • 2005- Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (Aardman Animation/Dreamworks; Disney and Pixar didn't even have a film up for nomination this year)
  • 2006- Happy Feet (Warner Brothers)
  • 2007- Ratatouille (Pixar)
  • 2008- WALL-E (Pixar)
  • 2009- Up (Pixar)
  • 2010- Toy Story 3 (Pixar)
  • 2011- Rango (Paramount; No Disney or Pixar films nominated)
  • 2012- Brave (Pixar; yes I'm still salty that Wreck-It Ralph didn't win)
  • 2013- Frozen (Disney)
  • 2014- Big Hero 6 (Disney)
  • 2015- Inside Out (Pixar)
So, as you can see, it's not exactly a Disney-dominated field. It's a Pixar-dominated field (distinction needs to be made, because even though Pixar is owned by Disney now, it was on it's own until 2006).
  • Pixar: 8 movies
  • Disney: 2 movies
  • Dreamworks: 2 movies
  • Studio Ghibli: 1 movie
  • Warner Brothers: 1 movie
  • Paramount: 1 movie

Can you post the older movies than 2001 please ;)
All the way to 1940 if you can.

And technically.. Disney = Pixar for a big part of this list.

Remember the leaked emails... "if it looked disney" they would vote for that.

Up charging is fine if its not overly expensive i.e USJ has upcharge events/attractions during Universal Cool but max they cost per event is 5 dollars and HHN makes sense stateside but its more so when they try to charge you 75% of a single day ticket to eat cupcakes and see fireworks is really ridiculous.
Agree, I do not mind upcharges if they give you something of value and worth it.
I do not find worth to see your 100 a day ticket being blocked in part because some company decided to do an upcharge event for additional 100 USD on that same day and forcing you out.

I am going to use even less spoilers, but I realize people don't want to hear much of anything...

I really came out of that movie believing all the rumors were actually bull. Quite a few reputable sites seemed to say so along the way. I truly think the reshoots were overblown especially on the heels of Sucide Squad, which actually reshot and destroyed their movie in the process.

Iger's comments at the premiere were that they wanted a different movie tonally. Rogue One was starkly different than VII.

I really don't see how it could get much more violent and still cling onto a PG-13 rating. I'm mostly just impressed that they truly didn't hold back. Even the comic relief met their assigned fate.

Not a spoiler at all, but @ford91exploder you definitely were off the mark with Disney toddlerizing the franchise on this one.

I really enjoyed this. Like wow.

Yeah, I see that Twitter person saying hope it isn't about Pandora. It sounds more like ROL to me. I know some still cling to Avatar not happening but lord, the buildings are there, and it's nearly open. They aren't stopping that. It's coming, so, frankly, people need to deal with it.

Orrrrr is this about GOTG at DCA. Most of us agree that it didn't look like his heart was in that project. Maybe he's seeing what a terrible overlay it will be and trying to tell the powers that be to keep TOT. And yes, I meant to rhyme.
^ exactly my thoughts (sans the rhyme:p) I think this is about GotG in ToT at DCA

A reference to Pandora and RoL doesn't really add up.

RoL was supposed to open 7 months ago with no opening on the horizon. Maybe it's time to pull the plug.
Rivers of Light is at least trying to be innovative, and there have been previews of it with people giving it very good first impressions despite the technical delays.

You tell me how excited he is to be announcing this - "a sort of warehouse...fortress...powerplant" He's pumped!

Could very well be, but due to the vague terms in which he is writing with, we can only make assumptions. Could be all three of the projects and a cumulative frustration.
It doesn't even have to be related to himself. It is a very important and very hard lesson to learn for those in the design world. People get emotionally attached to projects that they pour years of their lives into.
