Uni is sending out surveys about character dining and upcharge events. I guess we knew it was only a matter of time. Upcharging is now officially the herpes of theme parks.

Up charging is fine if its not overly expensive i.e USJ has upcharge events/attractions during Universal Cool but max they cost per event is 5 dollars and HHN makes sense stateside but its more so when they try to charge you 75% of a single day ticket to eat cupcakes and see fireworks is really ridiculous.

The surveys always include various configurations of perks & prices to see how much you'll pay for hypothetical packages, usually with parade viewing or mini golf thrown in. $65 for character breakfasts & lunches with no extras kept appearing....

The Russians are much more organized and can build things incredibly fast when the motivation is there and If Ol Vladimir says this is a 'Hero' project like the Olympics in Sochi I can easily imagine the Russki's pulling this off, Remember EPCOT only took 2 years from ceremony to opening. (but that was under a 'can-do' Walt Disney Productions where the Guest was the Customer) It's quite amazing what engineers and construction workers can do when they are not hobbled by 'Mahogany Row'.
Case in point the entire opening to the Sochi Olympics.

That's lame. They already have those $18 dollar passes for meal and mini golf plus entry into a citywalk venue. $20 for movie and meal plus entry into a citywalk venue. They don't need to raise those prices. And if they are charging $65 buck breakfast and lunch, I better see every single character Universal owns in that because that's over the top

Yes, but he's saying quite the opposite. I'm struggling to see how his math would make sense. I want to him to explain, for the sake of discussion, how all his numbers come together.

TSMM counted separately in the case can't be right. If his Cars Land number is accurate, then some other projects had to do heavy lifting. TSMM would be one of them.

@WDW1974's quoted expansion cost was 1.7 Billion including WoC and TSMM. @rushtest4echo isn't inclined to believe Spirit (you can look at some of his earlier posts in this thread to glean that much) so I wanted him to make his point.

Not that really am inclined to believe him over others, but it's at least worth giving everyone a fair chance to explain and clarify.

I know TSMM was a separate project and not part of the 1.1 or 1.2 billion makeover.

Only way I can imagine them opening the next year is.. if they pull a CHINA (aka an army of chinese workers working 24/7 nonstop, aka more than 5,000++ workers at same time)

Just to clarify the Russian thing - Russia is *not* building three Epcot sized parks before 2018. They are doing the following:

- DreamPlay (budget $15 Million!) - an indoor 'park' in a shopping mall - not even DisneyQuest scale.
- Universal Moscow - due to open 2022, NOT 2018, the article got it wrong.
- Dream Island - under construction, will open in 2018, but it's a huge building with rides inside as opposed to a massive land project.

Details and images of Dream Island here: http://rbth.com/arts/2016/03/16/russia-to-get-its-own-version-of-disneyland_576241

If it was related to Harry Potter, I might consider it. something along the lines of fighting death eaters or something. Or a fancy Christmas feast. But I can't see myself purchasing an up charge for anything else.
That's the kicker. HP wasn't mentioned at all and I'm pretty sure JKR wouldn't allow any kind of face characters in WWoHP, which is the only way Uni would make any money at this. Nobody I know wants to pay that kind of money to meet Gru and Homer Simpson

I like Moana and Tangled more than Frozen but it was still enjoyable. Not sure if it needs a sequel though.

I literally sat through all of Frozen with a straight face the first time I saw it. It did nothing for me, but I know lots of people enjoy it.

Disney feels the need to make another Frozen film because it's a money-maker. Not to worry, I won't be watching it. I'm more interested in The Incredibles 2.

I was thinking about something more along the lines of what Japan did, but better.

I loved Frozen, but I'm dreading the sequel. It doesn't need it. Besides, the Frozen short about Anna's birthday is apparently canon, and it created major plot holes for Elsa's powers (can she create life from ice and make floral clothing? According to that short, yes). :cautious:

The only thing I want an answer to is whether or not Anna had magic as a child. I could have sworn that she was going to have Fire powers at the end of Frozen based on Grandpappie's quote about removing all magic and all memories of magic from her. To me, that sounds like he removed latent magical powers from her (and I also believe it's more canon than Elsa's non-ice dressmaking powers). If they do a movie based on that, and if they make the trolls a bit more frightening (they don't seem to take no for an answer), I might just watch.
