So Mario is coming to ToT?
Yeah, word is they're theming it to the end sequence of Mario and Luigi Dream Team, when they're escaping Neo Bowser Castle and they fall down the elevator shaft and the Zeekeeper rescues them.......I just realized NOBODY knows what I'm talking about :(.

Yes
I don't get it, I thought we were only talking about rides actually getting replaced?
Yes, but the reason the rides get replaced is the Universal values what's new and exciting over classic stuff. Not much has been replaced at Islands of Adventure because there is a lot of space and it's still pretty new, but the same lack of value still applies to Islands in poor maintenance, lack of publicity, and all that other stuff I talked about. Islands hasn't had much replaced, but it will because that's how Universal works and what they value.

I was pretty sure Nintendo land would replace what's left of Lost Continent and Suess Landing. Or Toon Lagoon. Though people here are saying ET and the kidszone. I havent researched it myself much. Point is, nothing at any Universal park is "safe" unless it is currently a hit like Spiderman or Potter and continues to be a hit.

Everything I've read on OU is that it's going where the Kidzone is currently located. I wouldn't mind them ripping out Animal Actors because that is some nice real estate that could be better purposed, IMO. Perhaps that IS going away and I just missed it. Mike S could probably answer that.

Same actually goes for Disney too, even when it's something still popular like Tower of Terror in DCA. There's also plenty of rides that were left without proper maintenance for a very long time. Thankfully Small World and Dinosaur had recent work done but we still have Space Mountain's track, the Yeti, the filth in Buzz, etc. I guess according to you Disney doesn't "value" those rides until a long time has passed or possibly never again since something happened. Also, Maelstrom was reportedly in absolutely horrible and disgusting shape by the time it was closed for Frozen. Disney ain't no saint with this either.

Btw, does anyone know if the AAs in Living with the Land are finally working again?

DCA's Tower of Terror wasn't that popular (and was a far less superior attraction) compared to DHS's version. With a name of space mountain - I'm nostalgic for the old track, but that's just a matter of opinion - any other ride I'd be calling for a refurb.

In the general sense I think both Disney and Uni have been of the mindset that if it isn't making money-- scrap it and put something in that will. Both are guilty of this (and that's not necessarily a negative when the replaced attractions are better in cases than the originals) ala Diagon Alley over Jaws and (hopefully) Star Wars/ToyStory Land over the Backlot.

A new Space Mountain track would have the same layout but much smoother. It needs to be done, lest what happened in Disneyland repeats itself in Magic Kingdom. I'd rather not let it get to the point where one day it just never opens and needs an emergency track replacement.
