Fun Fact! Paul Pressler and Jay Rasulo are the two Chairmen of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts with prior industry experience in over 20 years!

Pressler's industry experience was singlehandedly ruining Disneyland to the point of causing guest deaths via reduced training and maintenance. That guy has failed upward so many times - I believe The Gap paid him $38 million to quit running them into the ground.

It's similar to Disney's ownership of Marvel, who still operates semi-independently and publishes plenty of comics not considered "Disney-friendly," even though Disney fanboys suddenly thought they loved and understood the comics simply because the Mouse purchased them.

Marvel might as well be a separate company, especially since Uni holds the most lucrative theme park rights and Sony has the Spidey films, but Disney still profits from the licenses as well as the overall ownership.

Even then, they don't really make a whole lot off the licensing.

Looks pretty cool.

Couple of questions for those more in the know:
  1. Will we be driving the karts in the Mario Kart ride or is it on fixed track? I assume we don't actually control the karts since it's probably impractical but it would be super cool if we did:cool:
  2. Is the Zelda thing a walk through or a ride? Looks too small to be a large ride, but even if it's not it would still be cool to walk through the virtual world of the game.
  3. It looks to me like the front part near peach's castle will have a kids play area and also an arcade area with potentially some smaller rides/simulators. If true, this is a really smart move. Universal definitely needs more areas and rides without height restrictions. I can see this whole project being very popular for kids and families.
It looks like they will be more like Cars Land style karts.

Link's show looks like similar to Stitch's and festival of the lion king style layout o_o

All together!

First reviews for Cars 3 coming in...

Apparently... it's actually good. Obviously not pinnacle Pixar, but actually quite well received considering the source material.

I guess it is designed to more or less pretend like Cars 2 was a straight to DVD sequel and Cars 1 and Cars 3 are more the organic way to watch the series as a duo. Mater is sidelined, none of the characters from Cars 2 make an appearance and there are some mature themes with some appeal to adults, without leaving the toddlers in the dust.

Do they finally explain who's building these things?

Mall-ification of Disney parks started more with Pressler, but yeah.

But it was Iger who put 'Sunglass Hut' and Havianas and Starbucks in the parks. Pressler only Dreamed about doing that.

I know Starbucks was a popular addition but i would have preferred it as an additional option not a wholesale replacement for 'The Bakery' the cinnamon buns and other items were treats you could have ONLY at WDW and are another piece of the WDW experience chipped away, The Starbucks treats you can have anywhere.

The departed Cinnamon Buns were something I looked forward to eating at WDW. Take them away and i had one less reason to visit WDW.

Don't forget their ice cream cookie sandwiches... The have them in the ice cream parlor now, but the price has increased, and the size and quality have diminished substantially. They did not need to remove the bakery to add a Starbucks...and I agree it is a net loss for everyone.

What ever happened to 2 weeks pay and the admonition to not let the door hit you where the universe split you. for executives. As the rest of the workers get this treatment when they fail
