An interesting story from earlier this year. I have trouble understanding why a company who would so quickly ban someone for life for making a terrible joke would want to be associated so publicly with an individual who has committed real crimes against them.

http://www.ksdk.com/story/news/2015/09/17/man-banned-disney-world-meth-lab-goof/32540743/

Cuz he pimps the Disney BRAND, Look Disney is the kind of company who would sacrifice a virgin at every solstice if it meant the stock would go up.

A google search produced the following article:

http://articles.latimes.com/2005/mar/25/local/me-parsons25

10 years after committing crimes in the swamps, he's kicked out for doing 'unauthorized tours' at the other coast.

Recidivism, perhaps?....

The story above is an interesting read.

I find it somewhat amusing that the same person who suggested that their 1st Amendment right might have been violated by Disney shutting down their unauthorized tours also has a problem with information that is public record being posted on an online forum.

Because that sounds like marketing hyperbole and damages your credibility as an independent journalist.
Wait a sec, since when Jim is a "independent"?
doesnt he do anyt
Sorry, PhotoDave219. I know that I shouldn't respond to this stuff. What's that old George Bernard Shaw saying? "I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it." But to my way of thinking, Lee rally crossed a line earlier this evening. And then when he refused to accept responsibility for posting all of this stuff, when he attempted to shift blame to whoever it was who told him how to access my Orange County files, that just made my blood boil. And then to go through this charade of saying that "I'm-not-posting-all-of-this-stuff-because-I'm-looking-to-publicly-shame-and-humiliate-Jim-Hill.-I'm-just-trying-to-start-an-honest-conversation-about-how-Disney-interacts-with-bloggers" ... I just couldn't sit by tonight and let Lee do that. I had to directly confront him. And you saw what happened right after that. Bang! Zoom! He scampered for the exits.

Which -- given that it's almost 1 a.m. here now on the East Coast -- is what I should probably doing as well. Thanks to all of you WDWMagic posters who have challenged Lee / pushed back against how he's handled the release of all that extremely embarrassing information from two decades ago.

I mean, I'm a big boy. I actually did all of that incredibly stupid and self-destructive stuff that you folks have read in those files. So I'm perfectly willing to take responsibility for that behavior. But the way Lee was handling the release of this information, he wasn't just looking to run some salt in my wounds. He wanted to shove the entire Great Salt Lake in there. And at some point, you just have to push back when someone's behaving as badly like that.
Technically, didnt you crossed the line a few times before? ;)
Also, it seems you're now taking things 100% personally.

Just wanted to leave you folks with one final thought before I head off to Boston to catch the press screening of a certain movie.th

Lee keeps saying -- over & over again -- that this isn't personal. That he's just posting this info to be accurate. But do you remember the story that Lee shared about how he was first made aware of my stay with Orange County. I've pulled the pertinent chunk out of his posting from Friday:

The person who brought it to my attention is/was a Disney CM who has had ''interactions'' with Jim dating back many years. They have been shocked by the way Disney (and Universal, to a lesser degree) seem to value him. They only decided to give this stuff to me because they said over the last year or so, Jim has become ''unbearable'' to deal with. "He thinks we owe him the world" and acts like Bob Iger ''who likely has never heard of him'' is his golfing buddy.

There's just one problem with the above anecdote. The last time I was down at Walt Disney World for a press event was late April / early May of 2014. That was for the official opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

So if I'm doing the math correctly here, it's been over 18 months since I had any dealing with WDW Cast Members at press events or the like. So -- keeping that in mind -- how exactly could I become "unbearable" to deal with over the past year or so? Wouldn't I have had to been on property for a significant amount of time in 2014 & 2015 and had lots of dealings with Cast Members in order to suddenly come across as though I thought of myself as Bob Iger's golfing buddy?

As I see it, there are two possible explanations for this obviously false story. 1) Whoever gave Lee my arrest info tacked on this additional tale about my alleged bad behavior. So that Lee would then feel that he had additional justification for posting this info on the WDWMagic discussion boards. Or 2) Lee made the classic rookie mistake of trying to "improve" an already good story.

So now one has to wonder: Was Lee just a pasty who bought this story he was told about my alleged recent bad behavior and then posted it here without first bothering to try and see if it was true? Or did he just make up this additional story out of whole cloth to help justify his decision to post my arrest record here on WDWMagic.

Whatever the case, this new bit of info does make one question whether Lee actually knows what the word "accuracy" means.
"interactions' can be via phone and online, not exactly need to be "in site".

Its odd that WDW1974 hasn't posted any kind of support for his friend on a topic he has spent a good deal of time and energy shouting to the masses for years. I'm sure he has good reason to not be in here and I wouldn't expect anyone to invade someone else's privacy or expose anything about him that he wouldn't like to share with the masses at this time. Which is fairly ironic I guess.
he's probably on another cruise or something.

While we're on a bit of a Star Wars kick.. Kathleen Kennedy had this to say at the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Hollywood last night:
I can’t believe we’re here! It’s a real privilege to make movies and everyone involved in The Force Awakens knows how lucky we’ve been to carry forward this incredible legacy that George [Lucas] began almost 40 years ago.

The Star Wars saga is about a series of seemingly chance encounters. They impact the destiny of everyone involved. So… here’s a story for you.

In 1962, an 18-year-old boy named George Lucas was drag-racing his car. He skidded out of control and wrapped his hotrod around a tree in Modesto. My step-brother’s grandfather pulled George from the wreckage that nearly killed him.

Fifteen years later, I stood in line for A New Hope, just like many of you, only to find myself later going to work with George Lucas and his best friend, Steven Spielberg,

Steven’s next movie was Raiders of the Lost Ark, which was produced by George Lucas and written by Lawrence Kasdan,

After its release in 1982, a box of super-8 movies Steven made as a kid had long been lost, but were found, I hired two 16-year-old young filmmakers to restore them. One of those boys was J.J. Abrams.

We paid him $300. Then we watched for 30 years as his career flourished.

When George offered to have me step into one of the greatest jobs in show business, taking the reins of Lucasfilm, ushering in new Star Wars films, only one person seemed perfect to direct that first movie,

And Destiny? Fate? I had to ask myself: was every one of these events, this whole progression, moving toward this? Is it the Force? I think so. If I’m right, then tonight, may the Force be with us all.

100 million dollar prediction for SW opening night. If it does happen, almost all other box office records should fall. That's saying quite a bit.

To be clear: "opening night" would be Thur night's + Friday's receipts together? I could easily see $100M with Thur/Fri combined given the pre-sales and hype.

HP & Deathly Hallows pt 2 did $91M on "opening day'
Age of Ultron did $84M

Now, if we are talking about Friday alone, that seems a bit more of a stretch, but conceivable.

I wish I was right out there with him, if that's where he is. (I'm already burned on the holiday craziness. :banghead:)

Spirit's like the professional cameo walk-on internet guy. You never know when he's gonna show up.

"Nobody expects the Spirit Inquisition!" :D

It seems like most of you forgot what happened with Phantom Menace where it got super high critical acclaim when it first came out and then once nostalgia wore off; people realized it wasn't that great. These initial reactions seem way too fan boy hype for my tastes especially when articles are coming out calling the film Best Picture Nominee potential for the Oscars.

Not being a buzzkill but history has shown a trend of highly hyped films initial reactions are its fantastic then secondary reactions are it was meh. Dark Knight Rises, the Hobbit, and Phantom Menace are good examples of it.

I could see this film being the first to earn $3 billion internationally before the end of its run.

Sure. I would expect the twitter buzz from an invitation only screening to generally be positive. The good news is that very little, if any, negativity is out there. The reviews this week will give us a better idea once they starting coming out

That said, I don't recall Episode 1 having that much critical acclaim. It has a 56% (rotten) ranking on rottentomatoes which is based on contemporary reviews and from what I recall, there was some pretty substantial disappointment early in the run.
