I actually kind of like Stitch Tiki Room, at least from what I can see in the videos.
It's certainly not actively offense, like New Management was. Instead of beginning the show by telling you're dumb for having liked the old show, Stitch interrupts the show because he wants to join in, not because he wants to change it, which, if we're trying to respect the original attraction, is an important distinction. Plus all the music is still ostensibly Hawaiian themed instead of everything but and the Stitch figure looks really impressive.

Sharpen your sticks if you must, but I honestly wouldn't mind it if they ported Tiki Room stitch to the Magic Kingdom if Great Escape closes.

...also, you Disney nerds out there, was New Management the origin of Trader Sam's Uh-Oha, or is it a reference to something earlier?

I would be amazed if that great animatronic of SGE moves to Tiki.
looks life sized!

Tahu's post makes me hope that Moana features a wacky talking parrot as the heroine's sidekick.

But with our luck, it'll probably be some hooved animal that acts like a dog.

Animators do love them some animals that act like dogs.

Alright, I know I've been on a kick, but turns out there as ANOTHER Japan-only version of the Tiki Room show- one that switched to the attitude of New Management without actually installing any new animatronics- just some very minor redressing.
Inexplicably, an English-language version was produced by Disney, never used, and subsequently leaked.

I give to you- "Get the Fever"

Not that ESPN.com was ever the greatest website ever, but it truly sucks now. I went looking for some news on my favorite team everything is tweets and videos. I don't want to read tweets or watch videos, I want some actual sports reporting. I guess that's why my visits to ESPN.com have gone from daily to once a week. They even suck for looking up scores now, it is easier to just google the two teams involved or event.
lets not forget the ridiculous rumour talk.
the soccer one is plagued by baseless rumours 24/7

If they think announcing new stuff will do the trick they'll do it. But they'll try to make it as 'capital neutral' as possible by looking to cut/price hike whatever they think they can get away with - and chalk it up to 'guest demand' (well, since guests demand more stuff to do in DHS they must also be demanding that we replace rib eye on the menu w/ flank steak, right?)
The way I understand TWDC to work is that decisions on large scale projects like the proposed rebuild at DHS are made at the highest level (Iger and Staggs). Things like restaurant menu changes, park hours and other operational decisions are largely made at the local level. I'm not sure the 2 are connected unless local management looks to cut costs in other places to make up for the additional operating costs of the new attractions. While I'm sure that is a possibility they will also see increases in revenue due to the new attractions to more than make up for the additional costs so margins will remain high. Either way the one certainty is prices will continue to go up. Getting back to the original point, I don't think it's likely that this negative earnings call will have any impact on the Florida parks.

I watch the shorts - right now DIS is the most shorted stock in the NYSE, So obviously many people with a LOT of money on the line are betting DIS will drop even more.

For those who do not know what 'shorting' a stock means usually a institutional (retirement/hedge fund) 'borrows' shares (for a fee of course) and sells them betting that before the loan interval concludes they will be able to repurchase shares at a lower price and keep the difference between the sale and repurchase price.
DIS had a substantial short position a year ago when the stock was at $85 too.

Edit: do you have a link to show that DIS is the most shorted stock? From what I can see its in the top 50, but nowhere near the top.

Fantastic Four was awful! Barely anything happens during the short run time of 1 hour and 34 minutes!!! Apparently 40 minutes of the movie was cut by the studio and the director is not happy!

I see them doing what they are doing with Spider-Man with the fantastic four after this flops! And I know everyone says that they are going to crossover with the X Men but I don't see that happening now afte this...

I saw that version of the Tiki Room a couple times about a decade ago. It was in Japanese and I could barely follow along, but I thought it was really fantastic.

nekkid as a jay bird. And I hollered over t' Ethel, I said, "Don't
look, Ethel!" But it's too late, she'd already been incensed. "

I'll try to dig it up later - Motley fool also had an article on DIS short positions back in march/april or so this year

For something completely different @WDW1974 has been enthusiastic about Mr Robot but that show is slipping fast

First we had the '50 Shades of Mr Robot' episode and then recently 'Mr Robot has a bad acid trip' its gone from great to unwatchable in 6 weeks!
