I'm afraid you'll have to tell him, although it's been a popular misconception on the web since MS opened.

I got it from the horses mouth - from the designer of Horizons.

Not to knock your source, but one would think one who worked maintenance on the building would be very credible. Even if it wasn't a sinkhole, structural issues due to shifting foundations seems very plausible.

They would not have rebuilt on that EXACT plot if that was the case. It also wouldn't have stayed open as long as it did if the land was so unstable.
